UPDATE: Since our original visit (and subsequent review), we have come here a few more times. What a difference a year makes! The food is still incredible; however, it has become abundantly clear that the real issue here is the quality of service: it is slow and indifferent. There is no excuse for a meal to take twice as long as it should be. Take-out may be a better option for this restaurant. Unfortunately, I'm dropping this rating two stars. Wow. Just wow. The food here is excellent! This was arguably the best meal we've experienced in a long time. We had the Seafood Risotto and the Lobster Ravioli, and both were outstanding. Served with warm bread and a nice glass of wine, we shared one of the best Christmas Eves ever. To top it off, we ordered the rich chocolaty thing for dessert, and it, too, was to die for!

I must add, the service seemed a bit odd, at first. We made reservations, and we were seated immediately (no small feat for Christmas Eve); however, "seated" meant that the hostess simply pointed to our nearby table and said, "There's your table. Have a seat and we'll be right with you." So we sat ourselves and soon received the menus. We ordered a bottle of wine, and when the waiter (a very friendly fellow) brought it, he simply left it on the table. My experience has been that the wait staff usually opens the bottle and pours the first glass. Good thing it was a screw top! In the end, I think the service was good, just a bit different than what we're used to. Plus, it was the holidays, so I really only have one unusual data point. I'll update this post if anything changes, 'cause we are definitely...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Olivios Trattoria, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The attentive staff made sure that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional.

And the food, oh my goodness! The dishes were absolutely amazing, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. From the appetizers to the entrees and desserts, everything was cooked to perfection using only the freshest ingredients. The pasta dishes were particularly outstanding, with homemade noodles cooked al dente and served with rich, flavorful sauces. The seafood dishes were also sensational, with succulent shrimp and perfectly cooked scallops that melted in my mouth.

But what really set Olivios Trattoria apart was the attention to detail and the passion that went into every dish. It was evident that the chefs took great pride in their creations, and it showed in the flavors and presentation. The wine list was also impressive, with a wide selection of labels to choose from that complemented the food perfectly.

Overall, I highly recommend Olivios Trattoria to anyone looking for an exquisite dining experience. The food, service, and ambiance were all top-notch, and I can't wait to go back again. Whether you're looking for a romantic night out, a family dinner, or a celebratory meal, Olivios Trattoria is the perfect choice. Trust me, you won't be...

It was a truly delightful experience, having lunch at Olivios Trattoria. It’s a cozy little Italian spot tucked into a strip mall, but don’t let the location fool you—the food here rivals high-end Italian restaurants.

Usually the salmon with vegetables and a side of pasta is a perfect combination and every bite is outstanding. The salmon was perfectly seared on the outside while remaining moist and tender inside, with just the right hint of seasoning and citrus. The vegetables were fresh, lightly sautéed, and had great texture—clearly not an afterthought. As for the pasta? Cooked al dente, rich in flavor, and coated with a savory sauce that hit all the right notes. Everything felt homemade, not mass-produced.

The atmosphere was relaxed and warm, with attentive service that made the meal even more enjoyable. This place is a hidden gem for Italian food lovers in Simi Valley, and I definitely love to be there to try more dishes.

Highly recommended for a casual yet memorable...

Go to Ralph’s and buy 1 tomato cut 4 slices of mozza and you have their Caprese Salad. They use so much oil and vinegar it’s like drinking it out of the bottle. My Italian grandma is probably rolling over in her grave right now. I make better croutons at home (mine aren’t burnt or stale) with my toaster. Their bread isn’t bread or focaccia it’s a brioche you can buy at your local grocery store. If I could give 0 star I would. They should be out of business honestly.
