I love this place. This is what baked goods should taste like. Croissants that are like a crispy light cloud of butter. Cinnamon rolls that are delicate and just the right amount of gooey and sweet. These are not corporate cinnamon rolls. The croque monsieur was hot melty goodness on a freezing cold morning. For the fusion cuisine there are matcha muffins and matcha danishes. The matcha muffin is unusual but I loved it. It's a dense, green reminder there is a Japanese baker in charge. I'm sure that's why there are yummy pastry balls filled with sweet bean paste or Japanese curry. The matcha latte was a perfect hot, creamy, foamy accompaniment to this perfect flavor parade. Loved the egg, bacon and cheese pastry as well as the sausage and jalapeno peppers covered in cheddar cheese. Did I mention she makes banana cream pie? Everything we ordered was delicious and baked to perfection. Great place to spend a Saturday morning or grab something to eat at home. If you have friends in town who will be visiting the Reagan Library, I would tell them to swing by Le Herisson and pick up a hot coffee or tea and take along some incredible pastries. This place is a keeper and another reason to be proud...

Long story short: Food is STUNNING (delicious AND beautiful savory AND sweet options), service is 10/10, comfy vibes (tables were cute, nicely decorated area and there was calming light jazz playing in the background). Simi needed a cute spot like Le Hérisson. Absolutely recommend! (Check out Yelp for more pictures; this place is super cute!)

Favorite picks: All of it, but also popeye and asparagus arabiki for the savories, and almond croissant and peach danish for the sweets. (I would gladly key my own car just for another...
Read moreLe Hérisson is a quaint Japanese/French café that served very nuanced, delicious drinks and pastries that check the boxes of both their respective cultures. It's a melding of tastes that is both delicious and sublime. Hérisson means hedgehog in French, and sure enough, the animal is abound all over in this sweet nook. The drinks are excellent. Catering to the Japanese fair using such ingredients as matcha green tea, Hojicha green tea, and yuzu giving a very sweet, fragrant taste profile to their drinks. The pastries are sublime and change often to the seasons. Strawberry croissants, cream puffs, melon bread, curry rolls, Japanese Arabiki rolls, peach danishes, you name it, they carry it. They are closed Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays and are open 7am to 4pm every other day. They are a bustling busy space that sells quality items. Give it a try, definitely...
