Pains me to do this, but customer service here sucks. I dont think it's the actual employees but company policy. My wife bought 4 bottles of soda for 99c each. Rings up at 1.99 each and we dont catch it. The next day the manager we called says," well take care of it next time , bring you receipt". So we show up and spend about 80 bucks and show the receipt for our HUGE 4 dollars ,lol ,and the checker pulls out a list and says they are different promotions at 99c but they all have to be from same company. So no refund. The guy bagging says that's how they get you the small print. Now I dont know about you but I really dont want to be spending well over 1000$ a month ( big family) at a store who's going to GET ME! but anyway we all know the stores make tons of money on these bait and switch tactics and I even remember back in the 80s or 90s the stores all got fined , big time, for such activities. So no big deal to me were talking about 4 bucks, but my wife starts crying she's had a rough day and this is the last straw. She is dyslexic and she's like," I dont have that list to check and I dont want to shop at such a mean place". So guess what? Happy wife happy life I guess I cant shop here anymore, bummer! I do like their meat about 50% of the time, but vons meat is good 80-90% of the time and their service is stellar compared to here.if we have a problem they always side with the customer and always welcome service requests. Any time I have a problem, charged for too many bags has happened alot here! The staff treats me like a bag stealing criminal. Lol . So I really think the problem lies in upper management hassling employees and probably managers too about refunds, charge backs ect. Again were talking about 4 $ (I think we'll be ok) but we spend a huge portion of our budget on groceries and I think we should be treated in a manner that is appreciated and not like they are doing US a favor by allowing us to shop there. Sorry for the rant but there is a huge difference between the way we feel as a customer at Vons vs. Stater brothers. I dont know what it is but I have been avoiding going here now for a while so it's not just the 4 dollar fiasco. BTW Aldi's rock too super friendly ,really nice, maybe stater brothers should steal someone from vons or aldi and get them to teach them...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is my neighborhood grocery store and I frequently walk here to get food. I appreciate the large, clean atmosphere. They have an amazing selection of products. I love the deli area. They make delicious sandwiches if you request them. The new sushi is pretty good for the price! The new self checkout stations are seamless and very appreciated when there are long lines at the cashiers. There are a few things that I miss when I come to this store, however, versus some others in the immediate area.
I do wish they would expand on their cut fruit dept. Vallartaās down the street has fresh pressed juices that are delicious. I wish this store would also press juices, as they already have the fruit counter. Or at least fresh squeezed orange juice. Additionally, the front-left of the store would be a great place for a little coffee cart. Iād love to be able to buy a coffee to have while I shop, just like the Albertsonās has down the street. These additional offerings would ensure I make this my one stop shop to an already pretty...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is one of the best grocery stores Iāve ever shopped at. Their customer service is top-notch, from the cashiers to the folks in the meat dept. to the staff you meet in the aisles. Everyone is not just friendly, but competent. Theyāre willing to help and know how to do so.
By comparison, we used to shop at a closer, larger grocery chain. I donāt want to mention names, but it rhymes with āVonsā. Our experience there, while positive at first, declined rapidly and for some time, prompting our move the wonderful Stater Bros. on Los Angeles Ave.
I think the real evaluation came when the pandemic hit (this is being written in 2020, before the asteroid hits). This Stater Bros. really stayed on top of things, from quickly limiting the quantities purchased (Iām looking at you, toilet paper!) to restocking as quickly as possible. Maintaining the proper flow of commerce does not happen by accident, and not only did this store ensure that happening, but did it in a way that met the needs of their...
