I was making a run for 3 hard shell beef tacos (plain) and decided to order queso and chips for myself. It had been years (near opening year) since I'd dined here. My experience:
I went late at night on a Saturday around 10ish and it wasn't crowded at all. I was able to go in and order right away.
There was ample beef inside the tacos especially given that they were all plain (meat only).
I attempted to order prior to my arrival but needed to see the menu online. It was impossible to decipher the words b/c they're written in white letters on a colorful background.
The service was quick regardless of how simple my order was. My fam enjoyed the beef tacos and they eat here more often than I have. I wasn't ask impressed with the queso and chips.
Why 3 stars vs 5? Because of the positive service described above, BUT the PRICES dampen the experience. I was very surprised at the overall prices on the menu.
3 hard shell beef or chicken tacos were $6.99 plus tax. * They're sold in sets of 3s 3 soft shell beef or chicken tacos $7.99
Queso and chips is sold in 3 different sizes S, M, L. I ordered a small at $4.75 and I wasn't prepared for the small condiment sized queso I received. I'm guessing it was ~1/4 (or less) of a cup and it tasted diluted with water. The bag of chips was plentiful for the size but I wasn't impressed with the greasy taste of the chips.
I expected a condiment size of salsa to come along with the queso and chips order but it didn't. When I inquired about the cost the gentleman said he thinks it's $1.75 for a small condiment size of medium salsa.
I myself don't intend to return back mainly b/c of prices and menu offerings. I would still suggest it to anyone else looking for this type of cuisine but I'd caution on prices. *I DON'T do "TexMex" or American style Mexican cuisine. I am used to eating at a very authentic establishment in GA with unique homemade recipes no other Mexican...
Read moreWe have been going to Tequila's for years and had great service and food. However, last night's dinner will be our last. Our server seemed agitated and kept standing at the rear of the dining room, looking toward the front. I selected an entree that was supposed to have an assortment of meats and instead, had only shredded chicken. My husband ordered an entree he's had several times, and the flavor was "off" and it was just plopped on the plate. The server never checked on us to see if we needed drink refills. He gave us our check in the middle of the meal! Before we were done eating, he stopped at the table to see if we'd put a credit card in the folio! He came back again when we were just finishing and said, "ready to pay?" and waited for my husband to take out his wallet. It wasn't that busy, so I asked him if he needed our table? He said, "no." We can tolerate an off night with either the food or the service, but last night was the last straw....
Read moreMy wife and son love this place...they love the beef burrito. Which is a just a ground beef burrito, kind of simple, and they love to pour cheese dip over it. Service is good... but the food is gross... Bad meat quality and plain flavor. All the Meat taste old and tough to chew.( trust me my son begged to go here and I tried a lot on the menu)
Prices are reasonable. All these things don’t make me go out of my way to review a restaurant and give it a low star... It’s because every time my wife wants to go here and eat bad Mexican food.... and I’m just like.. “ I will stay home and clean up around the house just bring me a plate” she comes home with a box of food that is ether burnt, wrong meat, or leaking from the box. And 3 out of the last 3 times I got takeout... it was not edible. So dine in if you like plain ground beef burritos for an ok price. DO NOT...
