Ok, so maybe the buzz from them finally reopening was a little overrated! Run away from this location as far as you can!! My first time back in everything was fine. Second time it was just ok and I started getting old vibes. Third time in it was worse than the first 2, now where I normally through my hands up and walk away and never return, on top of making sure that everyone in my VERY LARGE circle never go here, I decided to let it go and give the benefit of the doubt. As a successful Google reviewer I want to remain honest! Here we go: The reopen should not have EVER happened. The place is so cold(and it's 45°outside) that you can't enjoy your food and the coldness makes your food cold, almost instantly after you've received it, no lie! Next the pancakes are so small now they are like a toddler size pancake. You can't order for pickup because the phone system isn't set up properly and call forwarding sends it to some sort of VM. So you drive all the way there to place an order. Guest are leaving warning everyone to go eat somewhere else, but you decide to see for yourself. I ordered the strawberry and banana French toast and some other things my total was$36 I waited 20 mins on my food and when it was brought upfront I checked my items before leaving. This is when I questioned the French toast. I asked the cost of the French toast and the assistant manager said a little over$11 I then asked what came with it she said nothing!!! So wait.....I understand inflation but you're telling me I paid$11 for 1 piece of Texas toast with some Strawberry sauce and about 4 slices of bananas??? There's no way!! I was so upset I left. The waitress that took my order was very unpleasant, short, and could care less, that the most honest kind hearted person was just a little concerned about this particular order and didn't want to cause a scene! Being who I am, I professionally and calmly walked away.
Here's my final take: this location should not have ever reopened. The staff is under-trained, the food sucks because maybe the cook is frustrated from lack of help. One worker walked out right in the middle of all of this going on. The assistant manager was frustrated because they apparently updated or upgraded the system. As much time, that it took her to cash people out? I could've gone grocery shopping! I know readers; and you're probably right I'll get a response with no resolution just an apology from the owner and nothing else will change. But as one can see, this location is still in the same situation as before Covid. Just do yourself a favor because if you're on a fixed income, or have been through somethings (cancer) like me and just need that breath of fresh air to free your mind, don't come here!! Fool me once Shame on you, Fool me 2, 3, 4 times shame on me! Terrible everything and nobody in this location working, cares. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't go to Simpsonville location, you're...
Read moreWell, the experience was less than mediocre. We'r had a short waiting time to be seated. However, our waitress was not very attentive to our needs. There was another couple who came within 2 min of our table seating. Who say almost next us. She had already come and asked us of our drinks which were asked for coffee by the pot. 5 min later the other couple had their drinks and their order made. We were still waiting for our coffee.
After 10 min. We asked "Hey, where's our coffee? Oh, it's brewing so you're going to get it hot! She says. 5 min later she brings the small pot and pours our coffee half way in the cup. I stated that's not going to be enough coffee and asked for extra sugar preferably a small dish because myself and my husband are big coffee drinkers.
She told me to just let her know when we need more. She walked away still having NOT taken our order. Now she has seated and served an entire family of 4 next to us on the next side. Given their drink orders included water silverware and napkins which were didn't even get business or an offer for water. Then she gets our food order. Now the other couple had gotten their food and served as well add the family of 4. while are still waiting 4 our food.
At this point my husband is upset. So he asks her where or meal is? In fact she didn't even serve us our food another waitress brought our meal. And then she asked us if we needed more coffee smh. Never brought us napkins. And never asked us if we'r needed refills. Then, when she gave us the bill my husband gave her the money for it and she had the nerve to ask if we needed change back.... She better be glad that my husband handed it to her. Because, I would have told her I need every penny back. The service was terrible. I don't think I will go back to this Simpsonville, SC...
Read moreThis is the worst IHOP I've ever been to. When we arrived, we waited at the greater station for quite some time before someone came to seat up. Several of the servers saw us standing there, but none of them acknowledged us. (It's wasn't busy. There were 4 seated parties in the whole dining room.) I noticed that one of the servers had very long false finger nails. The way she gripped the plates as she was carrying them to the tables, caused the thumb nail to touch the food. That's is positively disgusting. I took microbiology, and one of our projects was to culture false finger nails. Let's just say that if it had been my personal food, I would have walked out. One of the servers accidently dropped a small plastic cup of butter from one of the plates as she was bring them to a table. She left it, overturned, on the floor for at least twenty minutes. Obviously, that caused a nasty grease stain on the carpet, and showed a complete lack of initiative to keep things clean. As a side note to point 4, properly fitting uniforms. Would be nice. There are somethings that I don't want to see. I'll let you make the assumptions as to the problem that occurred while the server cleaned up the butter. Customer service during payment was terrible at best.
We will never return to this location, and perhaps the the restaurant...
