Koi Sushi & Steakhouse — Restaurant in Sioux City

I may have given maybe one other place all 5 stars in 20 years of reviews. Normally I'd likely give a shop like this 4 or 4.5. It's a bit cramped, and something could be done to make the back of house more presentable from the lobby. However, the quality of the food, the creativity and value are well beyond average.

What's more is I freaking love sushi. I've had it all over the continental USA. I can't say I've encountered this kind of quality at such a low cost. For instance, the same roll that costs 12$ at one place can be gotten here for 5$. They have a tremendous selection not just of sushi, but fine seafood, fish, crab, shrimp etc.

The Yum Yum roll is especially unique and insanely delicious. I'm a customer for life and I'll likely use their products for catering events and social greets. It's a far healthier option than most food items, it's got plenty of lighter options for general snacking, and has family packaged where the options...

I would love to give five stars but the only thing wrong was the service, all the servers we’re all over the place, no one was in charge of a specific section, it took about 15 minutes before we even got asked what to drink, what seemed like the manager was amazing, he was so nice and seemed like the only one who had their head together. Unfortunately he was the only one who was serving us, taking our order, refilling drinks, bringing food and our check, even though he clearly shouldn’t have been the one doing that as I noticed he was having to handle every part of the restaurant that wasn’t busy at all and the other 4 servers should have been pulling their weight. Basically the same as my other review about their Floyd Blvd restaurant, decent sushi, great ramen. However this restaurant stands out in one aspect the other does not and that's their spacious environment, and amazing staff. Their staff is always ready to help, vigilant and coordinated. Not that the other restaurant isn't, but I could not review the other one in service as it's more of a little hang out compared to this one's complete restaurant environment. The girls who work here are amazing at what they do and deserve a tip almost always, the adult man who I believe is either the owner or manager here is the best and always ready to chat.
