I LOVE this type of food, travel internationally and within US quite a bit so have my fair share of dining options and experience.
Normally, we pick Puerto Vallarta but were running out of time and chose this restaurant as it was closer to home. I am ready to let people know the truth without sugar coating.
Here are the facts: fast seating and super sweet waitress. Yummy drink options-made with WINE BASED tequila. We ordered a peach margaritas and watermelon mojito. Go with the margarita. Long hair served in salsa wrapped around cilantro. (Discovered after putting the salsa in my mouth) ... check you food before eating. We sent back but weren't offered anything for this. Salsa is like water- very little flavor. Ordered chorizo queso. Food seemed precooked and nuked and had interesting flavor.
We only order the app this time because the cost of the food is extremely high. I have eaten here before, and food is not that flavorful or fresh (compared to other spanish options), although the portions are big enough for 2. I hate to say, but probably some of the worst food I have ever eaten.
The atmosphere is nice. Should clean a bit more (walls, booths, tables). Super loud music.
We left and went to Gilbertos (because Puerto Vallarta closed) and had AMAZING food (Shrimp fajita - served 2 and we had left overs today), tostadas, and tamales) all for $20.
Although we wish the best to this business and owners, this is not a 4 star restaurant. 1 star for food. 3 star service. 2.5 stars for atmosphere. It is a 2, at max.
We will not return. I suggest you save your time and money and visit Gilberto's or...

This is my first time going to this Jacky's restaurant, but I've been to the one downtown many times and enjoyed that one. The food was good, but the service was terrible. Good luck getting a refill. Normally at these types of restaurants chips and salsa are provided to the table free of charge. A small handful of chips is not a lot for a party of three and after going up to the counter we got a refill. That refill cost $3. My mother and her boyfriend ordered fajitas to share as the amount of food you get is quite large. The lady dropped off the rice and beans plus my meal. I was halfway done with my meal before the fajita meat and veggies showed up at our table. The fajitas only include 3 tortillas, so again we had to go to the front to get more tortillas. Turns out they charge $1 per each additional 3 fajita tortilla shells.
So getting ready to pay, none of the waiters/waitresses stopped to pick up the ticket. Keep in mind a $100 bill is clearly visible to the waiters. After 10 minutes of waiting we again go up to the front to pay. Watching the waiter with the till, they didn't have enough to cover the change so the waiter pulled cash out of his pocket to cover...
Read moreSo very sad - I loved the other place - parking was not easy - we stood at the desk for quite a while as numerous employees looked at us but kept walking which gave us time to notice the chipped paint on the wall - finally a hostess and we got a booth with a huge badly ripped seat - I was afraid it would snag my pants - service a little slower but ok - they use to give you extra chips but now there is a charge - but we didn't get many the first time but the Jacky's enchiladas were disappointing - bland but my husband had the wet burrito and it was fantastic- we LOVED this place before so will try again but I hope they make some upgrades- there is no feel like the old place and now it is so far from us - it will have to get back to normal to want to go across town-Please get better !!!!!!!- we loved it...
