This is the first restaurant in a very long time that I'm giving 5 stars in every category! My wife and I were passing through Maine from New Brunswick to Ontario (Canada) after visiting family. We will be doing this trip a couple times a year. While driving, we discussed how we'd like to find a spot like her family did where they like to go and look forward to going each year. As my wife googled food places, she came across LA Fogata. Low prices, real food and nice interior. Let's give it a go!
Best decision we made! We can already hear our future kids asking to go to the place that gives them nachos!
The food was outstanding! We ordered from the lunch menu that offers a discount from 11am to 3pm. I like to eat a larger amount of food than my wife and for only $9.99 I left satisfied! That doesn't happen nearly anywhere anymore! The interior was nice, bathroom was clean and smelt very nice, food came out fast which was awesome when we're committed to a 12 hour trip that day so we can sit down, order, eat and be out in nearly half an hour, that's huge! We will be returning lunch or not, each time we pass through and we hope to add kids to our order as well! Keep doing what you're doing guys, loved it, can't wait to go back! Best place we've been to buy far this year....
Read moreNot impressed. Sadly this is what you get for Mexican food in Maine. The food is less than OK, but I suppose that's still better than the local Taco Bell! The food you see served in the restaurant is 10x the quality you get for take out. Expect an ugly pile of trash smashed into a circular container, if you order take out. I mean the take out food literally looks like pig slop compared to what is served in the restaurant, and that is sad, because we would've given a large tip, if we hadn't received such an awful distgusting mess for the 2nd time. Sadly, I think most of their good reviews are on the basis of locals that have never actually been to an authentic Mexican restaurant. Avocado, crema, cotija cheese, or anything else even remotely Mexican? Nothing of the sort. Just ugly food the the locals don't realize is actually pretty bad compared to any other authentic Mexican restaurant in the country. We need a good Mexican restaurant in the area, so I hope...
Read moreUpdate: 2nd visit. I opted for takeout. I ordered at the bar and my 2 meals were ready in I think about 6 minutes. I had to order another Burrito Alteno (lunch special) and a taco salad. It was perfect once again. The shell on the taco salad was so delicate and crunchy. Love the extra chips and salsa. I love the chipotle sauce, really spicy and good home made flavor. The staff were all really friendly. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. This place truly is a hidden gem. I will continue to come here regularly. Love it!
First visit. Came here for lunch. I thought everything was awesome. The atmosphere was cozy. The service was great and I thought the food was delicious. Had the El Burrito Alteño lunch special with steak. The steak had a nice grilled flavor, juicy and tender. Perfect amount of cilantro. If I owned a competing restaurant in the area I would be VERY worried! This place is great and I can't...
