Food was good and restaurant clean but sadly had to leave 2 stars because of shady business practices. It is a counter order place, and they bring your food to your table. When we sat down after ordering, I noticed they automatically added a $10 tip to our check without our approval and no signs notifying of auto adding gratuity. Pretty messed up. My fiancé wouldn't let me notify the manager. Otherwise, I would have. I noticed while leaving that one younger girl was checking people out at the register and flipped the monitor around to the customer on the screen that shows the total and boxes to check if you want to add a tip. The older brunette lady that checked us out only turned around the screen on the total and sign screen which is why we didn't notice the tip on our initial check. This happened Sunday, 7/7/19, around 2 PM in case the manager/owners would like to address this with appropriate employees.
We also went back up to order sides, and they tried to do the same thing. We questioned the total this time, and the cashier said she rung in wrong and corrected.
Update: I appreciate the response by owner. Although my fiancé paid so the check found must have been wrong one because the tip added was definitely $10. Either way, I appreciate the attempt of addressing the issue, especially with employees and process, and changed rating to reflect food...
Read moreI'm gluten and dairy free, and they were able to accommodate me with a grilled chicken salad with no cheese or croutons. If you're not dairy free, the items they hand bread are made with cornmeal, so those items will be gluten friendly. Watch cross-contamination, though. I'm not 100% certain the chicken wasn't grilled where other things had been. For me that's not usually a problem. If it is for you, keep it in mind. You could also get a salad without the meat. I also got thousand island dressing, and it was so yummy! I wondered if it was homemade, it was creamy and seasoned so well.
Update: definitely cross-contamination... Or else the thousand island had dairy in it when most of the time that type is perfectly fine.
In reply to the owner: I woke up at 5:30am with diarrhea. That's my cross-contamination indicator. It's not your fault. You guys tried. And you really did. I loved that you all were trying to brainstorm with me. But others who are as sensitive or more than me need to know. Unless you can tell me if there was dairy in the thousand island dressing, then it wasn't cross-contamination but my own fault for not vetting it better. This is totally not on you, nor a reflection on you and how you prepare food, but just giving real, needed information to those like me who desperately...
Read moreThe only reason I am giving this place two stars instead of one is because the staff was friendly and the restaurant seemed clean. My husband and I each ordered 4lbs of boiled crawfish and a bag of potatoes and a bag of corn and two dips. The crawfish, corn and potatos were all COLD. I don't mean they were only a little warm, I mean they were room temp cold. Even the crawfish in the middle of the platter, underneath the others, were cold. Same with the side items. This is a first for me. We come to Louisiana all the time to eat crawfish...I have never been served cold crawfish before. About 20 minutes later, people coming in were being served steaming hot crawfish. I could have been okay with the cool crawdads, but my husband's tray was a lot of heads with no tails. And both trays were filled with a lot of pond debris. They didn't seem to have even given them a quick rinse, much less even attempt to purge them. The batch was really mixed, with smalls and larges, so there was an uneven cook on them. And they were more salty than spicy. I prefer more spice to mine. In 25 yrs of coming to Louisiana at least 2-3 times a year, this had to be the most dissatisfying boiled crawfish experience we have...
