En Lai — Restaurant in Slippery Rock

Genuinely amazed this reasturant has a 4/5 on google. Probably one of the worst reasurants I’ve ever experienced. I’ve ordered from here twice and both times were atrocious. The first time I ordered here I asked for beef Lo Mein. What I got was 4-5 pieces of rubbery meat sitting in a bowl of sauce. I’m not joking. That actually happened. That was literally it. No noodles, no vegetables. I assumed it was a fluke and gave them another shot half a year later. This time ordered the same thing, and my girlfriend ordered chicken Lo Mein as well. What we got was the same thing I got half a year earlier and she got nothing but vegetables soaking in some awful vinager sauce. I was actually amazed. In awe of how incompetent En Lai was. Everything else we got was just sides and stuff, and of course, they were subpar. Dry, or chewy or just generally unpleasant. When I went to pick up the order the second time around, I had to deal with the rudest cashier of all time. Gave me attitude because I asked for an extra little container of sauce for the dumplings for whatever cost. I don’t think I’ve ever written a review online before in my entire life. I just don’t do it. Never found the reason to. But this reasturant is so insanely incompetent and unpleasant that I actually took time to write this review, just hoping that it can disuade at least ONE person from experiencing what I experienced. I can only deduce that this miserable restaurant still exists because it’s basically the only place you can get Asian food for like 30 miles. Although keep in mind I use the term “food” lightly. It may be tempting to give them a shot, but I assure you, at the time i’m writing this review, this restaurant should be avoided like the plague...no...

Stopped for take out. Was told cost almost $12.00. First place I have gone to that doesn’t weigh and charge by pound. Here, cost same whether eating in or taking out. Smallest take out boxes ever seen. Food mediocre, warm, not hot. Meat barely warm, most part was tasteless. Limited selection on buffet. Pass it up. Take short drive to Grove City and visit China Buffet where they do weigh take out. I pay half the price there with more selection, better quality food and always fresh and tastes great. No, I don’t work there. I live in Grove City and had business in Slippery Rock so wanted to try this place....

I honestly love the quality of the food. It's really quite good, but every time I have ordered from here, I feel like I have been ripped off. I keep coming back because it's the only decent Chinese place that will deliver to my area. The issue I have is that it's one of those places that will fill 90% of the container with rice and like 4 pieces of meat. Maybe I've just been lucky, but I've rarely had this problem with other Chinese food restaurants, so I can't let that slide. That being said, if you can put up with the portion size issue, the food itself is acceptable...
