Fri June 23 While driving to Pittsburgh from Grove city, we checked out some small towns along the way. We came across Steel Mill Moonshine in the adorable town of Slippery Rock. It was Completely unexpected to find a place like this in what I thought was a little hamlet, but turned out to be much more. Steel Mill was our only stop in town – and it was well worth it. First, the building is historic and beautiful – an old converted post office right in the heart of town. Steel mill is the purveyor and craftspeople of fine Moonshines and moonshine based cocktails. The owner was very nice and happy to be of service to early daydrinkers. She allowed us to taste test almost all of her flavours – we were somewhat selective. The flavour profiles are all on point. We learned about how they craft each moonshine flavour – using as many local and in season ingredients as possible. Each one was better than the last – bursting with rich flavours. Normally, when I try moonshine – I taste the alcohol first – which puts me off – but this was flavour first – making it the smoothest -moonshine I have ever had. Its an easy drinking shine. We also enjoyed a couple of their fine cocktails. We did not have any food - as it was still fairly early. So we cannot comment on the food. The atmosphere was very cool, with amazing décor. We loved our conversations with the owners, learning about the town, the university, the history, and their business. Lots of on street parking, and a small parking lot. This is a lovely spot to make a destination trip to.

Outstanding!! When visiting your student at Slippery Rock University, it is a nice place to grab a bit to eat and moonshine cocktail. Pulled pork nachos. Dripping with queso, pulled pork, tomatoes, corn, and BBQ sauce. Cheesy goodness in each bite. Sweet Onion flatbread. Spicy Jam, delicious carmilized onion, blue cheese crumbs, and bacon. Melts in your mouth. Turkey Elderado. Smoke cheese, turkey, caramelized onions all on a hoagie bun. Flavors that burst. Punch list drink. Cherry and lime moonshine and lemonade. this goes down smooth. Sangria shine. Pach and watermelon moonshine, Moscato, sprite, and assorted fruits. Try as well the ginger sour mule very refreshing and the long island ice tea. McKenna was our server. Friendly, fast, and efficient. Absolutely a must, while in Slippery Rock.

Enough room for about 50 people Max. Good beer on tap selection. Their menu is one side food, and the ENTIRE other side with their homemade moonshine or tequila selections they have the permits for. I believe this is one of the first few moonshine bars allowed in PA. I enjoyed the Cherry Lime shine shot in a Broken Heels IPA. I got the Brie Platter app as a solo eater for $13 and was super fulfilled for a single meal. When you’re tryna catch a beer and brunch this is it. Parking is across the street off of Elm street by the fire dept.

I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time and let’s just say it did not disappoint!

The drink menu has a ton of great options, you are sure to find something delicious and will probably want to try more than one of their moonshine cocktails. I got the Salty Rotten Apple and it was both unique and delicious.

The food menu is equally if not more impressive, it has a little bit of everything while making sure each dish is perfectly curated and crafted. Head chef Marc knows what he is doing when creating a menu and you can tell that a lot of care is put into making each customer a perfect meal. The presentation was also immaculate. I got the cheeseburger soup, which was so good I almost asked for a second bowl. I also had the peach flatbread which was definitely drool worthy, everything was filling and great portion sizes.

The vibe was great, the bartender was super friendly and the music really set the atmosphere. There were several regulars in the space that clearly love stopping in, and everyone made you feel at home. I definitely recommend this spot...

Saw that the person running the Facebook decided to not only dox someone who left a review on their business but then proceeded to lie as well about the actual events that took place. Not only were the two people who went into the bar of age, they proceeded to lie saying the male forgot his ID and service was refused. The male is not only very of age to drink but had gotten wallet from the car after realizing he entered the establishment without it and then had received service. Very disgusting and immature of the business to handle a bad review in this manner, they also failed to address any of the other criticisms given in the review which makes it seems as though they only replied to be spiteful. Maybe it’s only hard for small businesses like yours because the way you run your establishment is unprofessional. Do better and if you have any ounce of respect for your business and the women’s privacy delete that post, very unflattering and quite frankly disgusting just like your...
