Massimo Pizza — Restaurant in Smithfield

On Halloween when we finished trick or treating we wanted to try Sami’s for the first time. We are new to the area and have not had a chance to try them out, but the pictures looked good online. We called to try to place a pick up order at 7:43 and the lady answered the phone by saying “We aren’t taking anymore orders tonight.” On Halloween night wouldn’t you expect a few later evening calls? They close at 8 and I have never heard of a business turning down a customer before close. We ended up calling Vaneros Pizza in Smithfield and placed an order for a couple pizzas and garlic knots. It was delicious. We probably won’t try Sami’s at all because it was an abrupt and unprofessional way to answer the phone and it totally rubbed us wrong.

Edit* In response to the owner. (See their response below.) What if we didn’t want anything consisting of dough? Maybe I wanted pasta or a salad? She never asked asked what we were calling for. She could have still taken the 30 seconds to find out what I needed instead of being lazy and trying to get me off the line sooner than later. Now I am even more...

Really wish I could have given this place 5 stars because their pizza is very good but I can’t. I called and asked if their menu on their Google listing was current and a lady told me yes it is. I placed my order and picked up my pizza not realizing they charged me more than what their menu says. I called them and the same lady who told me the prices were current told me they actually weren’t current and that they charged me the actual current prices. She apologized and offered to refund me the difference but I would have to come back up there to get it, which I couldn’t do because I had places to be after picking up the food. I honestly don’t think that I should’ve had to drive back over there because of their mistake, which would cost me more gas money and let’s be honest gas is too high for that so I basically have to just accept this inconvenience that was completely avoidable by her taking two seconds to double check her prices on Google before giving me false information. I drove 30 minutes to have Sam's pizza 🍕. Me my wife and daughter with my two grandson's. We all are enjoying there pizza and all meat Stromboli . Definitely worth the drive to get NEW YORK style pizza.

Went back for a birthday lunch with my wife, daughter, and son-in-law. We had a white pizza that was really good and a regular pizza that I always enjoy having.
