Love the food and the drinks!! update: rating moved from 5 down to 3 Reasoning: prices have increased exponentially over the past 2 years and now they've finally priced me out. I can't justify spending 7 or 8 dollars on an english muffin sandwich and 11 on a regular sandwich with a small side. I remember when I started going everything was like 3 dollars cheaper, and it was not that long ago. To get 2 english muffin sandwiches and a 2 drinks for breakfast is usually 40 dollars once you tip and that is just...not reasonable. The coffee is also just not consistent. The previous owners basically said that the baristas had to tamp and dose espresso manually and it leads to a non-consistent coffee flavour as there is no real measurement for the amount of espresso to add into the portafilters. A similar thing can be said of the flavour, one day a drink is bitter and lacking flavour, the next day it's too sweet. It's hard to enjoy a place when every time you go it tastes slightly different. I still love the muffins they have, but I'm probably passing on the...
Read moreThis place is a great hidden gem! We go EVERY Saturday for brunch and get something called the "Cam Cam". Its country ham, an egg and fresh pimento cheese all on the fluffist English muffin you've every had. I don't even like pimento cheese! It is D-E-LICIOUS.
Also they have pineapple juice mimosas, (Regular OJ ones too) to start your brunch off right. A bunch of coffee drinks made to order, some local beers and a big menu of savory and sweet crepes, bubble walffes, and many, many more great items.
The staff is so nice and friendly, quick to recommend something good and they seem to always be in a wonderful mood.
The atmosphere is very laid back not crowded and super chill. It just has a real welcoming and honest vibe.
Be careful though, you'll get hooked and have to make it a regular routine like we do every...
Read moreThe Guided Pear is one of the rare coffee shops that executes coffee, espresso drinks and food all very well. Some coffee shops make great espresso drinks but serve coffee almost as an afterthought. Many coffee shops do coffee and espresso drinks well, but fail to execute well on food beyond baked goods and simple sandwiches.
The taste, acidity, structure and foam on my espresso were all excellent. The ratio of espresso to milk was very well balanced. The Bahn Mi had great picked vegetables, the pork belly was great and the sandwich overall had an excellent balance of sweet and savory. The soft sandwich bun was substantial, but allowed for easy, neat eating experience.
Finally, the staff is friendly, efficient and engaged. Excellent experience, will...
