Google guide and verification coordinator. A fully stocked bar with an eclectic menu and daily specials, certainly one of the best and most unique restaurants in Johnson County. An unexpected Gem right behind the court house, right across the street from a vintage movie theater and a block away from the Neuse River at 146 S. Third St.Smithfield, NC 27577. No need to call for reservations but if you have a large party it would be best to call ahead. Before or after one of the best meals you will ever have, you can enjoy a movie in an old time theater, or a horse and carriage ride is available from a separate vendor, or an evening stroll on nights of cloudless climes and starry skies down the nearby River Walk. Although oysters are not on the regular menu, they have been known to pop up every now and then just like local musicians performing inside or ourside by the 5 or 6 tables under a garden terrace for a pleasant and unique dining expierence that encompassses the sounds of the city winding down for the day. And you must order the hog cakes appitiezer , Chef Ian's award winning southern twist on the seafood classic, Maryland Crab Cakes, but theses are made with smoked pork shoulder. Absolutely scrumptious. The voictrius locals will have you on the edge of your seat with tails of their mighty feats and local politics. Prepare yourself for an unforgettable dining experience and a craving to return to one of the hottest spots in Joco.

We ordered 2 Reuben’s, nacho appetizer, and shrimp and grits. The nacho appetizer had a nice presentation, but skimpy on pork. Reuben’s were average. I adore Reuben’s and look forward to being served a sandwich stacked with a thick layer corned beef, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese. These had minimal meat and kraut. I adore shrimp and grits. My order came and the presentation was amazing. No reason to take a picture before diving in, because looks wise, I was certain this would be a winner. My grits were undercooked. Needed approximately two more minutes cooking. I would understand if they were busy and my grits got undercooked due to a rush, but I noted two of their parties during our dining. I believe they were cooked with water. Finishing them with cream would have helped to richen, but more importantly give the creamy texture that is so needed. The shrimp was bettered and had a frozen taste. This dish traditionally does not have a battered/fried shrimp and in my opinion, that was an inexpensive and easier option to offer this dish prepared this way. The waitress took the $15 charge off my bill after I gave input that they were undercooked and needed cream in the preparation. This was an appreciated gesture. But, I asked her to add it back on, as my desire was for them to take the input and apply it, not comp. me my entree. for

Absolutely phenomenal. Chicken wings by far best in a 30 mile radius hands down. Mac and cheese side 10 out of 10. Nice texture in the slaw. Perfectly cooked fries. Excellent (and a great value) on the crem brulee. Good greens, fresh broccoli not frozen. Chicken salad wrap was perfectly flavored. Most of all the staff were outstanding. Kitchen manager and hostess were above and beyond all expectations. Adequate parking. Blueberry chipotle sauce I could buy by the gallon. I have to say it though, sorry, the cheesecake needs to be removed from the menu. Pretty easy to replace it with another 'edible' dessert item. $4 isn't even a fair price for a food service cheesecake after a meal like this. All in all there were SO MANY positives this is a definite 5 star place and we may very well he back again within a week!

Came for dinner service and was very disappointed. Food prices were great but the quality of what we received was not even mediocre. I ordered the Cubano. It was 2 pieces of white bread, a slice of ham, maybe 2 pickles, pulled pork that was really just the fat pieces, cheese, and mustard you could barely taste. Looked nothing like a cubano and tasted nothing like it either. More so a ham and Swiss panini that I could have very easily made at home. We also got a bbq plate and the bbq nachos. Nachos were just mediocre. Queso tasted like great value canned nacho sauce and was the smallest serving of nachos I’ve ordered to date. The bbq plate tasted like store bought pre cooked bbq that comes in a microwaveable container. Mac n cheese was bland. We had 2 waiters, one was a male and decent in the beginning but then didn’t return for 30 minutes. our other waiter served our food. If we needed something she would not stop walking away but respond to us by yelling as she’s walking away. She did everything with an attitude it seemed like. Like she was having to wait on 30 tables. At the time when we came, they had 4 other tables and 2 people sat at the bar in the whole restaurant so no reason to be in that much of a rush. It took us having to track down someone just to receive our bill. 30 minutes after stacking and setting our plates to the side. When Sodosopa first opened they were pretty good. I haven’t been here in years and judging by the service and food we received by this visit, We will...

The food was very bland. For a restaurant that advertises smoked pork product, there was no smoke flavor on my husband's overcooked ribs (nor was there any seasoning). After he reluctantly sent them back, he was offered a replacement of brisket but was given pulled pork, which also lacked seasoning and was so greasy he almost threw up. I had the cheese steak pressed sandwich and the rib eye was dry, overcooked, and had no seasoning. After sending his first order back, a gentleman who had been standing at the front of the restaurant talking to the host since we got there as well as clearing tables came over and introduced himself as the kitchen manager. He was very pleasant and handled the situation professionally, however I'm unsure why the kitchen manager wasn't in the kitchen. We were not offered for anything to be comped, even though my husband didn't finish the second dish they brought out. My husband has been smoking meat for twenty plus years, and we can both say for certain that there is no smoker at that restaurant (regardless of how the menu is worded). If you get any smoke flavor at all, what you're tasting is liquid smoke that can be purchased at the store. If there were a functioning smoker in use, you would be able to smell it from blocks away. Was highly disappointed by the food standard, but the wait staff and front of house were pleasant. We will not be returning to this restaurant and would actively advise friends not...
