I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Good Kitchen. I’ve never been more inspired to eat healthily than when I dine there. Their food isn’t just good for you, it’s genuinely satisfying. Not just for an hour or two, but for the whole day. It's so nourishing that I don’t even crave dessert afterward, which says a lot coming from someone who loves dessert! I also want to highlight how incredible they are when it comes to accommodating food allergies. I brought a colleague who has a severe sensitivity to gluten. While not celiac, even trace amounts or shared surfaces cause her significant pain. She couldn’t stop raving about her meal, not just the flavor, but how carefully it was prepared. She texted me afterward, amazed that she had zero discomfort. Now she wants Good Kitchen to be our go-to spot for meals together. The staff deserves a huge shoutout too. They’re genuinely kind, thoughtful, and go out of their way to make every guest feel welcome. Recently, I placed a to-go order for myself and a couple who had just welcomed a new baby. When the staff asked how I was doing, I mentioned my excitement about meeting the baby. Without hesitation, they offered to include bubbles for the baby and a dessert bar for the new parents. They even attached a handwritten note to the bag that said, “Welcome to the world, from the people at Good Kitchen.” When I delivered the food, my friends were absolutely floored by the kindness and thoughtfulness. Later that evening, they even sent me the adorable photos of the bubbles floating around their newborn! It turned an ordinary meal into a truly special moment. It’s not just that Good Kitchen goes above and beyond, they redefine what hospitality means. I can’t recommend this place...
Read moreWhen a dear friend suggested this place, I rolled my eyes. I was told that they read how the food is "clean" . I quietly lamented about how this is going to be a boring meal with oats and grass of some sort. And! The food would be tasteless.
Hahaha! The joke is on me! I'm very glad that I did not express my thoughts out loud.
Good Kitchen is full of choices. I selected a breakfast bowl. My companions ordered steak tacos and a grilled chicken wrap with a side of zoodles( zucchini noodles). Everyone, including me ,enjoyed their meal. In fact, only one of us did not eat everything on the plate.
We were warmly greeted by the servers. Our drink and food order was taken quickly. Our orders arrived quickly and together!! Kudos to the cook for getting every item out at the same time and each hot and well prepared. That is a mark of an efficient and well-run kitchen.
Almost forgot. I don't like eggs really. The breakfast bowl came with scrambled eggs. They were delicious! Drinks Freshly made drinks, an assortment of coffees, beer and wine.
As we were leaving, a party of 3 were having salads. They looked soo good!!! I will have to try one next time.
Atmosphere: Inviting but not fancy. Clean inside and clean bathroom. There are a couple of tables outside for eating.
Location: Smyrna Village. Near Fruitea Cafe and below River City Church. Plenty of parking in parking lot.
Prices: Not cheap but not exorbitant. For quality food and in this current economic environment, price expected
Menu online. Handicap parking available. Not sure about the doors. They have high chairs for little ones and a small corner with toys and books.
Try it out! I think you...
Read moreI had high hopes for this place. As it’s right down the street from my place of work and I’ve been wanting to order breakfast from here. Unfortunately my visit was less than enjoyable.
I ordered a veggie bowl with salmon. Upon arrival back to work, I take off the top to notice there is a hair sitting right on top of my salmon. Already not pleasant. The veggie bowl is supposed to come with sautéed kale, peppers and onions, no where on the menu did it say anything about spaghetti squash or sweet potatoes, I couldn’t tell which it was on my bowl but it tasted sweet which is throwing off the entire dish. There was SOOOOO much of whatever this was, I didn’t like it at all and was expected exactly what the description said. Eggs, peppers, onions, kale, cheese. Nothing more. The salmon that I added was absolutely hammered, just overcooked beyond anything I would eat, plus with the hair on top, I’d rather not. I also ordered one of there juices called the Restore, for $6 I could have done without. It had so much pulp that it didn’t even want it. I was done with it in minutes because it’s so small. Not worth the price. Overall I spent $28+ for food that I could have gone without. Again Not worth the price at all.
The ambience: it’s a small restaurant, friendly staff, but a lot of staff for the space. All the waiters, waitresses were all huddled in the front doing nothing but talking to each other the whole 20 mins I was there waiting on my to go order. I mean, logistics wise, money out of the door when they clearly don't even have anything to do.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place. I just wanted what I ordered. A simple veggie...
