The space? Absolutely fabulous! The decor in here is super fun. Loved the vibes.
The drinks? They were good, not great. For $17 for a cocktail, I would expect the standard accoutrements. For example, the old fashioned did not have the orange peel (ANY orange) in it. This is an area for improvement on $17 cocktails. We had $17.00 cocktails the next night down the street, and they came with pretty glassware and proper accents. I get that you have a small space, but maybe take a look at what is served elsewhere at that price point.
The "regular" cocktail that we ordered came in a water glass with a regular straw. (Not a cocktail straw)The glassware for "off the menu" cocktails could be better, especially at that price point.
While the staff was friendly, no complaints there, we were eventually made to feel like we were uninvited guests. Especially when they turned the music off at 9pm and told everyone they needed to leave because "a big party is coming".
We left the place at 9:10pm and watched; there was no big party, they just wanted to close because it was a slow night.
For a $10 cover charge per person, and $17.00 cocktails, we should not have been kicked out of a mostly empty space. You should have been glad to have us there, spending money.
Likely the last time we will go there, which is a shame because the vibe is cool, the drinks are OK, the music is good.....but making everyone feel like we are lucky to pay $10 a head to get into your mostly empty space, only to kick us out is just BAD BUSINESS.
I get enforcing the 2 hour limit if you have people waiting to get in, but you didn't.
You guys should charge $10 on the nights you have people trying to get in, but on nights it is slow? You should welcome us in with no cover charge. I can't imagine folks will make return trips with that cover charge for no people watching and to get kicked out.
Edited.to add: I was born in NY, lived in NYC in my early 30s. I get what you are trying to create, and I think it would do really well in Smyrna, but you can't fake being a "hot spot". Make it hot by creating the energy of a hot spot. You have the ambiance, for SURE! Try cover charges when NECESSARY until you get the "hot" vibes, then you can charge $10 per person when the space is empty.
Good luck. We WANT YOU to...
Read moreI don’t get it… Maybe it’s not for me to get… I saw this place on IG and decided to give it a visit. One major pro is that there is plenty of free parking around. The spot is located upstairs in another restaurant. Admittedly I didn’t choose to go in.
First there is a cover charge of $10. I asked the hostess at the front is that de to an event or show going on. Nope. Do you get anything for your $10? Nope. Just vibes. Also remember that the seating is limited and not guaranteed even if you do make a reservation. Oh and don’t forget that you’re kicked out after 2 hrs.
After reading some more reviews and folks claiming the drinks are mid (and priced around $16 -don’t forget to tip your bartender folks) I decided to go next door for margaritas and tacos. Again this place could possibly be the hottest spot in town. I could possibly be missing out on great “vibes,” but hey,...
Read moreThey charge a non refundable $10 per person to book a reservation... I have no problem spending money, but it irritates me to pay $10/person just for a reservation and won't even go towards my drinks when there's SO many other places that gladly take my money for food and or drinks when I get there, like Red Phone Booth, Eleanors, etc. This may fly for some because they are new, but won't last... I for one will spend my money where I'm wanted and invited without having to pay just to make a rez... it ain't that deep...lol... it's unfortunate that a bar in our neighborhood decides to treat us Smyrnians like this, but save your money and go to Red phone Booth, Eleanors, wrecking bar brewpub, literally anywhere they will treat you with respect and be glad to give you a...
