To me it's a 4, but for what it wants to be, it's a 5. As in, I generally prefer food more vegetable heavy and more options on that end, personally. L&L, between spam musubi and moco loco, and the meat platters....would be an absolute delight to those whose diet is primarily big meat & carbs. And I have to say they deliver that very well. The meat is quite good, I tried their katsu and the chicken tastes fresh and juicy. The spam musubi seared to perfection. People like it and verbally rave about it while standing around the store. The store is small with little seating, but is so snug it actually makes it easy for people to talk to each other. You can suddenly be having a conversation about musubi with a whole room of people. Unsure if that's the intent but it fosters community and brings people together. It fits in very well here in Smyrna, they chose a good spot. I've seen at least a few Asians every time I come here. I can see men liking this place due to pretty big portions in general for the price. They do have Lau lau platter and steamed veggies. I think they could use more sauce options too, only had sriracha or soy sauce available. I ordered the saimin and will likely not get it again. It felt like a ton of meat and a big pile of noodles. Again, it may be more of a personal taste thing. As in, some people may be perfectly ok with eating a big pile of noodles with a bunch of meat...🤷🏻♀️. Imo L&L should form an alliance with Good Kitchen across from them..they're both Christian-owned (I think, based on overhearing convo while eating in the shop) And one is mostly veggies while one is meat & carbs. The health obsessed partner can go to one and the carnivore can go to the other, and they can meet up to eat in the village square--BOOM. Everyone...
Read moreUnfortunately, for the price I paid, I felt compelled to eat most of it just to avoid wasting food. I regretted every bite until I finally gave up as soon as I saw the paper plate melted. From the beginning, the lady at the counter was unfriendly (she might be the owner in conjunction with another gentle man that was there too). When I asked a simple question about the side that came with my order, she looked at me like I was asking for a free meal. She really needs more patience, especially when dealing with first-time customers like myself (and now, last time too).
The gentleman who seemed to work at the restaurant possibly the owner as well or manager was much more friendly and welcoming. I wish he had been the one to take my order instead.
Now, let’s talk about the food. I ordered the garlic shrimp lighter option, and wow the grease level was out of control. I will never step foot in this chain restaurant again. It’s just not worth it, especially when considering your health.
Also, you might want to consider letting the food cool down a bit before serving it, to avoid burning or melting the plastic plates. If you take a look at the upper left side, you can see that the paper plate has actually melted. This is concerning, as melted plastic can release harmful chemicals. It might not harm a one time customer but someone that comes here frequently, this is a concern.
I truly dislike writing negative reviews, but unfortunately, my experience wasn’t the best. I also feel bad because one of the staff members, possibly the owner or one of the owners was actually...

What a fantastic addition to the Smyrna food scene! We ordered the Spam musubi, chicken katsu, and ramen with BBQ chicken, and every bite was a hit. The BBQ chicken was especially tender and flavorful, and the Spam musubi instantly brought back memories of our trip to Hawaii.
Even though I arrived just as the restaurant was about to close and the team had already started cleaning up, one of the kitchen staff saw me from afar, pulled out a chair, and kindly offered me a seat. Such a thoughtful gesturel. The owner was also incredibly welcoming and kind.
And the best part? They have Dole Whip ice cream! I definitely need to come back with my husband and kiddos to try it,,we’re all going to love it.
This place truly deserves more traffic. Let’s support local businesses serving up yummy, heartfelt food. Thank you for bringing the flavors of Hawaii to our neighborhood, I’ll...
