TLDR: everything was fine but I got food poisoning.- update: had to go to ER after throwing up blood 25 hours later. Diagnosis: enteritis due to either E.coli or salmonella.
I know it’s popular to dump on places in reviews but I would be doing a disservice to myself, the restaurant itself, and the entire service industry if I was not honest about my experience: Frankly, I was elated when they opened, as sushi is literally my favorite food and this place is so much closer to me than my usual revolving sushi place. The service was fine, staff was nice. But this place gave me food poisoning. After eating here, I came home and projectile vomited all over my bathroom and I wish I was exaggerating, my bowels are 100% liquid as I type. Please be sure you all are preparing your food, storing your food and serving your food correctly. I haven’t been in the south long but I know they don’t always require all staff to get a servsafe certification so that could be a factor, could also be that they’re new. Either way, food poisoning can be dangerous, and especially now when so many people are ignorantly immunocompromised.
Update: I am literally typing from a hospital bed because I was throwing up so violently, I started throwing up blood. Turns out I got either E.Coli or salmonella from this place. They want me to stay overnight because if I throw up again it could be fatal….PLEASE check how your food is being stored, prepared and served!! Thanks to you all I have a medical bill!! Seriously...
Read moreLet me be real it wasn’t bad, but I did feel like the variety was a bit limited. A few times we watched entire sections of the conveyor go by with no plates at all, even after waiting for a second round. That kind of takes away from the fun of the whole experience.
Each plate comes with 3–4 pieces of sushi, and between the two of us, we knocked out 11 plates. The sushi was decent, but I’ll say this compared to other sushi spots I’ve been to, the pieces were on the smaller side. So yeah, we ate well, but it added up quickly.
Now, after waiting a couple of times, we started ordering directly from the tablet on the table. It’s definitely a good backup option, but let’s be honest half the fun is seeing the food go by and picking what looks best in the moment.
The place is clean, the service was fine, and the concept is cool especially if you’ve never tried a sushi train before. It’s not my go-to sushi spot in Marietta, but it’s still a decent option if you’re in the area and want something different.
Would I go back? Maybe, but next time with lower expectations and a little...
Read moreMy teenager has raved about this place and so we went as a family. The concept is great. Service was awesome. Really loved the environment. This place is worth checking out because it’s quite unique. There was a lot of sushi available on the conveyor belt, but I didn’t find much of it appealing other than the California roll. Shrimp tempura roll and soups can be ordered on the table device. Although my family sampled everything and did not leave hungry, the sushi menu is quite limited. I even noticed that some sushi on the conveyor belt had cheese. Some of the sushi just seemed like random flavors assembled together with an assortment of sauces. I suppose that’s what makes this place unique. So don’t go expecting standard sushi fare that you would find at any of our local sushi-hibachi restaurants. Also, the rolls could have been rolled tighter and with a stickier rice. This place is worth going at least once. And it’s probably a fun...
