This place had a high rating so I thought I would try it. Came in at lunch time for a few slices, realized I was picking out pieces of pizza that was going to be reheated. All good, I don't expect a fresh pizza for a few slices. But it looked like it had been sitting there for a while ya know. Not even under heat, just sitting there. Who knows how long it sat out? If you are looking for a fast food pizza then I guess it's okay.
Was in the process of buying, and the wife said out loud that they were out of Dr. Pepper syrup in their machine, we both made eye contact with the guy ringing us up, and he stared at me like a deer in headlights. Not a big deal, but it was clear no F's were given that day. I decided to get a water cup and drink some water from the soda machine, and it was so bad I dumped it out on a plant. I want to formally appologize if the water kills the plant outside. For the record, I grew up drinking water out of a hose, but this water was next level bad.
Moving forward, got our reheated pizza, and it was....okay? It's the kind of thing where you get home late at night, and you are way to tired to cook, and you microwave the pizza that's been in there for the past two days. Not knocking microwaved pizza, but this is a restruant with high reviews. I also got a garlic knot, because it looked amazing. Like the presentation was "Wow!" The taste of it being reheated and burnt was so bad. I ended up throwing it out, along with some burnt crust.
Overall my experience told me: Do NOT drink the water (How do you mess this up?) Do NOT be fooled by the delicious looking garlic knots If you like left over microwaved tasting pizza, then this is a great stop.
I for one will not be revisiting this establishment. Maybe buying a whole fresh pizza would be better? Maybe I came on a bad day? Pizza is 2 stars in my opinion, but...
Read moreI ordered the Stromboli and two slices . One white with ricotta s and a slice off pepperoni all for around $22. It was more food than I could possibly eat for dinner The pizza is classic east coast style thin crust and it is re-heated to perfection one of the best slices of pizza in San Diego. The Stromboli was huge, the length of the entire pizza box and filled with veg is cheese and pepperoni and came with a generous amount of marinara sauce for dipping. Again, the crust is cooked to perfection, with a nice crisp layer on top and moist bread. With no marinara, the Stromboli is delicious but dipping it into a generous dunk of marinara is amazing. If youâre looking. For a great place to take the kids and family, or just your bros , this is an excellent choice. A bit off the beaten path in Solana Beach, they offer lots of outdoor dining and plenty of feee parking. I love these gems that arenât always obvious choice, out of the way, and well worth the trip. Support your local business, as well. Some of the best Italian food and pizza around and reasonably priced. A slices is $3.50 which in todays money, is a steal. One slice is a nice meal, two slices and I was full. A little Stromboli and I was pushing it. Stromboli for lunch tomorrow,...
Read moreI can't believe all the years I've been stopping in the shopping center and I have never stopped in here before. IT IS AMAZING! THE GARLIC KNOTS WERE SO WARM AND SOFT AND BUTTERY AND NOT AT ALL OVERLY GARLIC. I should have picked Crime Scene for my slice of pizza I saw the guys in there making a large one for some lucky people and it really looked good. The dollops of red sauce made me envious. Next time..next time. I ordered the Canadian bacon an pineapple. Im glad I did beacuse I gave up pork. It had just the right amount of everything...every bite had some of each ingredient and thats what you want in a pizza...no lack of pineapple. Friendly pizza people inside so I will definitely be back. They have about 10 pizzas to choose from that are ready sliced and then you can also order large ones! The desserts are worth coming back for too...even just for dessert. Easy to find in...
