Molly's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Somerset Township

My husband and I drove to Molly’s and was looking forward to getting some homemade ice cream and using my $40 gift card he purchased me for Mother’s Day. I placed my order and handed her my gift card. The girl apologized and said that the new owner won’t except their gift cards and changed the system so that the employees couldn’t accept them. Two other employees came over and tried to override the system, but it wouldn’t work. They were very apologetic and stated they have to deny customers their gift cards a lot. I didn’t have cash on me, so had to walk away without my order. This is just poor business! When you buy out a business a keep the name, you are buying the previous owner’s debt! I have been assured that this place hasn't been around since the 50's by people who have lived in the area for many years, but it feels like it's a classic ice cream shop. The portions are HUGE and the prices very good, but most importantly the ice cream is very good quality. Seriously, I don't know why anyone in Somerset would go to Dairy Queen (which isn't bad) when this is available. I am sad that I didn't have the excuse to go back again during my visit.
