Cracker Barrel Old Country Store — Restaurant in Somerset

I have put considerable thought into this review , I have been a regular customer at Cracker Barrel since 1983 and had always had good experiences until a management change at the somerset ky store. my first bad visit happened when we were served green scrambled eggs , when I showed them to the manager instead of trying to make it right i was instead told it might have been from the cook cleaning the grill which didnt even begin to explain why the eggs where green , was not offered any solution not even an apology and was charged full price even though we sent that plate back , had another small incident but let that go because they were super busy but todays experience was the last straw we were seated , brought out a basket of biscuits with one thing of jelly and no silverware , my daughter ordered coffee with creamer , nothing to stir with , after a good 30 min still no silverware after asking twice , no offer of a coffee refill , finally part of the food came out served in a very small plate that barely help part of the order , i finally got the managers attention , he brought out the gravy and biscuits for our order no room to put it on the plate , still no silverware , i finally went and got that myself , then ask manager about some coffee he came out and filled my cup turned around and walked back to kitchen without refilling the other two cups at the table , food was very cold and poor quality , original waitress finally came by the table to drop off bill after and hour and 20 minutes of totally ignoring our table , not offer at all to make any of this right , ive never ask or expected any restaurants to ever comp a meal but if ever there was a time that i expected to have this happen it was today instead we had a large bill for below par food and service with only an insincere sorry about that , needless to say after being a faithful customer for 40 plus years , eating there an average of 3 to 4 times every week the 3rd strike and im never going back , im sure myself and immediate family and friends never going back will probably not even be noticed by the establishment but its very sad that such a well established and loved stores service had declined to such a low level , sincerely a very...

Cracker Barrel has been our family's ABSOLUTE FAVORITE restaurant!!! But, last evening was different and it honestly made me think I will not go back to the Somerset Cracker Barrel. Our waiter was very friendly, but didn't offer the biscuits & cornbread when he took our order. I was wondering if they stopped doing that. The worse thing was the food. My daughter and I got the grilled chicken salad. The chicken was well cooked but WAY TOO MUCH SEASONING. It was extremely salty. My hard boiled egg, I kid you not was completely WHITE. I mean even the YOKE WAS WHITE??? That was very strange!!! It wasn't even a pale yellow. It was WHITE and looked more like cottage cheese. Our cucumbers had slices that were see-through. Do they freeze these before serving? These salads just weren't fresh one bit. I really felt like we were served leftovers. I hate leaving this review, and honestly I hesitated, but I'm a review reader and maybe this review will save a family from being served food that was obviously not fresh. I'm very disappointed to say the least. The waiter didn't offer my younger girls refills for their lemonade either. Our meal also took at least 20-25 minutes to get to our tablle. I thought the waiter may have forgotten about us. The restaurant didn't seem overly busy. Maybe this is just the "New Normal" for Cracker Barrel. I am comparing our visit to the many other visits we've had at Cracker Barrel restaurants over the years. Hopefully this review will reach a manager and the kitchen staff can be trained to be more careful when selecting ingredients. People don't want yesterday's food when they come out to a restaurant with their family. They can stay home...

Somerset, Kentucky location stopped in to see if the food was any better than what I heard about online. And watching of u-tube videos. Sorry to say it’s bad guys! Oh I messed up, I order the Saturday southern fried chicken mashed potatoes and green beans. The fried chicken was cold and oily the outside, dry meat on the inside like it was sitting in the kitchen all day under a warmer. The mashed potatoes seemed as if they had been dipped out, sitting under a heat lamp with a crust on top in the bowl, the green beans was unseasoned straight from the can. The small basket of biscuits was right from the warming table. Cold inside and wouldn’t melt the butter. Even my ice tea tasted strange. I was here with the family. We’re so unhappy with the meals now being served at this restaurant chain. We really wanted to consider eating here this one more time. But after today that it! Sure wasn’t worth the money ,for this lunchtime meal. Oh and I have never in my life seen this! Wife received the wrong meat on here plate. So the server stated I quote: My bad! She walked away, coming back with a small plate. Asking my wife to slide it onto the plate to take back to the kitchen. I know after that move…. I would never eat here again! I would like to state my thoughts and feels about it to the owner and management. But I didn’t feel up to making a deal about it today with my family. If I was dinning alone it wouldn’t went very well. I’m sorry, I’m definitely done with the Craziness of cracker crust. Go on do your make over.
