Apparently, this once noble and family run, restaurant has changed hands. Yesterday, I ordered my familiar favorite go to, Beef with Bean Curd (Tofu), white rice and Wonton soup. After placing my order the woman behind the counter called it back in Chinese and then turned to me and said they don't make Beef with Bean Curd anymore; but, "I will make it this one time for you. Next time you can order Beef with Broccoli and add some tofu to it." I said, that it was sad they took my order off the menu and Thanked her for the courtesy. So the order was paid for, cooked, bagged and I left. When I got back to work, my order of Beef with Bean Curd turned into a head of broccoli, four slices of beef and three small chunks of tofu in a small ammount of sauce that at best, was unflavorful and salty. Disappointed, I ate it and became even more disappointed. Chinese food restaurants/take out can either be fantastic and a culinary quick trip to China or a total "bad experience". This was close to the latter. I come to this tiny, uninspiringly decorated takeout place because the food was more than good. It was by far "The Best" Chinese food in the area and sent me to China for my lunch break. Now, the food has lost all of it's flavor and uniqueness; settling for common, everyday, ordinary Chinese food one can get anywhere salt. With the price of gas going up, again, and delivery getting your food to you cold or at best luke warm; this tried and true Chinese takeout place has lost a customer to other more convenient places that aren't...
Read moreWasnt gonna post this review because it felt petty, but I want others to be aware just in case. I ordered two separate orders with two separate bills and when I came to pay, the lady with the short hair added up my total wrong. She initially overcharged me by $20 dollars and then ultimately still overcharged me by $3. It was only $3 and I was in a rush so I just considered it a tip, but it still just rubbed me the wrong way. If anyone is in a similar situation, make sure you calculate the total yourself before handing over your card or cash. I don’t want to accuse her of anything, but it seemed really shady… my bills were $50.17 and $15.77. She initially said $89 and then ultimately charged me $69 and change. Even if you were to just round you can clearly see that the total has to be around $66… she literally just made up a number lol. Like even the change amount didn’t add up at all. Like I said, I was in a rush and I didn’t really care, but I felt that people should be aware. Also their orange chicken was trash. Basically...
