I would actually rank this a 4.5 to fight could, but wouldn't go so far as to give it a five, as I have been too many escape rooms and there are ones that are a bit better. Still these escape rooms are original and definitely fun and well themed. The first time I went my group consisted of four adults and two children and we did the game of thrones room. I will not give any spoilers but I would say that it was a little bit corny as far as decorations and theming but the puzzles were good. The children were able to participate in the house and their attention was soaked up in the atmosphere. The second room we did was the Edison room which as far as I know was somewhat true to the story of Edison's life and history for the most part and it was well detailed. We did fail this room because we were only two adults and two children and although we were moving almost the whole time it was definitely a bit harder for a small group and we only succeeded in about 75% of the puzzles before our time ran out. Still the thing was better in my opinion than game of thrones, it was definitely a tougher room, but the puzzles were great and doable for the most part. Both experiences were worth doing! Especially local to the area I doubt that there is a better escape...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOne of the best escape rooms I've been to. Mild spoilers ahead for one of the rooms: Despite been inspired by Game of Thrones, it is tremendously original in it's puzzles and its decor. If you're a fan you'll enjoy the little references here and there but if you're not you'll still get great medieval castle aesthetics nonetheless. The puzzles are great and very logical; there's not a lot of looking around for secrets and hiding spaces for clues but more focused on putting together clues unlocked from previous puzzles into some contrapment found throughout the whole room. They used light in a very neat way, starting the room in the dark with a small 'lantern' and locked outside the main room. This really enhanced the feeling of being on a secret mission to get into the room and find the items to win. The whole theme was very well done. No puzzles were too far fetched or too easy and you can tell the owners really thought about each part carefully. The owners themselves are lovely, very good hosts. They are currently expanding into a third room beyond their current two. Great location near a lot of dining places for a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe visited on a Sunday night, visiting from out of state. I talked with the owner on the phone about our group and she recommended we try "Thomas Edison's Secret Laboratory." The building is in a great location, in Somerville. It is a cool lobby, with great people working there. The room was full of such varied puzzles. There was a variety of ways to solve things, and some really clever design went into the room. We managed to finish the room with just a few minutes to spare, using our three clues. All five of us had an amazing time. I have done this room as well as Dragon Castle. Along with those two, I have done three others in different states. These two were hands down the best, and its not particularly close. The puzzles were challenging, but nothing over the top. The rooms are in great shape, and cared for. The people that work there are great. We were the last group on a Sunday night, and they were so happy to stay there and chat us up. I highly recommend this one to anyone. Both rooms are awesome. We were successful in both rooms, and they encourage you to use clues. Just a...
