Title: A Bittersweet Experience at Salted Lime: Tasty Fare, But Pricey Pitfalls
Salted Lime promises a tantalizing journey through Mexican cuisine, but alas, it falls short of achieving culinary greatness. Nestled in the bustling streets of the city, this eatery offers a mixed bag of delights that leave diners with a sense of ambivalence.
Let's start with the positives. The food at Salted Lime is undeniably tasty. From the flavorful birria tacos to the delectable guacamole, each dish boasts a symphony of flavors that tantalize the taste buds. The birria tacos, in particular, stand out for their rich, savory goodness that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning palate.
However, the pleasure derived from the food is dampened by the hefty price tag attached to each item on the menu. At $28 for a trio of tacos, one can't help but feel a pang of disbelief at the exorbitant cost. While the quality of the fare may justify a premium, the sheer audacity of the pricing leaves a sour taste in the mouth.
The same story unfolds with the guacamole. While undeniably tasty, the serving size leaves much to be desired, especially considering the steep price of $15. It's a classic case of quality overshadowed by quantity, leaving diners feeling shortchanged and reluctant to return.
Moreover, the crispy artichokes, touted as a culinary delight, fail to live up to expectations. Stringy and hard to eat, they are a disappointment amidst an otherwise flavorful menu.
Service at Salted Lime is decent, but nothing to write home about. While the staff are courteous and attentive, they fail to elevate the dining experience to memorable heights. One can't help but feel that for the price paid, a touch of excellence in service would be more than warranted.
In conclusion, Salted Lime offers a tantalizing taste of Mexican cuisine, but its lofty prices ultimately detract from the overall dining experience. While the food is undeniably tasty, the exorbitant cost leaves diners feeling reluctant to return for a second helping. Perhaps with a reevaluation of their pricing strategy and attention to dish quality, Salted Lime could truly shine as a culinary destination...
Read more! Cool place and we had a good time !
So we ordered a few of their dishes, and drinks.
Drinks
Hibiscus margarita was good well mix and it seems to be the best for the night.
Blood Orange margarita was okay it really didn’t taste like anything just tequila.
La Rosa paloma and this one wasn’t good and it had a weird ending taste so not a fan.
Appetizers
We ordered the guacamole it was good and creamy. I would say that for me the only thing that was missing was a little bit of lime, but still worth ordering.
We also ordered the burnt ends now this appetizer was fantastic. It was so good that it was eaten before I had a chance to take a photo definitely worth ordering.

40 day aged dry steak , was interesting. Definitely a good size steak but again didn’t taste like an age steak also found it a bit bland.
PRIME skirt steak , now this steak was good definitely have some flavor definitely worth ordering wish it was a bigger cut, but if order won’t be disappointed and pair with the green sauce. Definitely makes the steak better.
Side order of potatoes and cheese was definitely fantastic pairing with the steak
Tartar , now this was a unique dish to say the least . definitely full of flavor , a lot going on in this dish. So that being said never had it before so I don’t know if it was good or bad, but enjoyed it
Desserts
Definitely interesting we order the cheesecake, I like the concept of it , felt like I was constructing my own cheesecake as I was eating it. Asked for a cheesecake. I was expecting it to be a little bit more soft than creamy. I felt like I was just eating ice cream cheesecake.
Chiro pudding this was good but I’m biased because I like chocolate lol Definitely taste like a churro. Just found a burnt taste of cinnamon that I wasn’t a fan but still worth ordering.
Servers

Read moreI travel a lot, and I'm a bit of a taco hound. I especially love the sort of chef-designed tacos they make here, where the condiments are matched by the chef (as opposed to, say, a taco bar, where the customer tops the fillings with the same options according to their taste). After looking at all the fabulous food photos on the restaurant's website, I was excited to try this place. Unfortunately, my tacos were underwhelming. If you're going to charge $8 for a single taco, it better be far above average--and certainly not too small or wanting in execution, as these, in my opinion, were.
I ordered two, which, at most restaurants, is enough for me for dinner: the chicken al pastor and the shrimp. The tacos came out presented very nicely on a little wooden holder, and the blue corn tortillas were lovely aesthetically.
But they were small by any standard, even at half the price. The al pastor taco was bone dry. The chicken was overcooked, and there wasn't enough moisture in the taco to make up for it. The tortilla was a bit chilly to the touch; it didn't appear to have been warmed.
The shrimp taco was tastier, but the salsa and guac were both fridge-cold, and the tortilla was chilly, so overall it registered more like a cold, Mexican shrimp salad than the warm taco I expected. It was tasty enough, but nothing unusual.
In terms of atmosphere, it's a loud, convivial place with a modern industrial feel, and the architecture amplified the conversation noise as places like this are designed to do. People seemed to be out in good-sized groups of friends having a nice time.
Given the small size of the tacos, I was done eating very quickly. I considered ordering another, but after such a lukewarm experience, I really wasn't feeling like dropping another 8 bucks. I left hungry and won't be returning.
Side note: When the bartender gave me the bill, there was a survey included. I shared my disappointment and left my email address, but it's been at least a week, and no one has...
