Yoshi's — Restaurant in Somerville

WOW. I mean, really - WOW.

What a stellar gem this restaurant is!! I am so glad we stumbled upon this place. Upon walking in we were immediately greeted with the warmest welcome by Ping. She was so sweet and gave us the nicest spot by the window and fish tank!

Right away she was very attentive and so kind. She took our order with a bright smile. We ordered Thai iced tea and a milk tea, vegetable tempura to start, and a vegetarian bento box and a salmon teriyaki bento box. within minutes of ordering we had our drinks (both SPECTACULAR), our miso soup that came with the bento boxes, and our vegetable tempura appetizer. The food was SO fresh. The tempura vegetables had the perfect crispness to them and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. The dipping sauce was heavenly.

With perfect timing right as we were finishing up our soup and appetizer, out came the bento boxes! Such quick and attentive service! Vegetarian options are easily 10/10, so tasty and not any less food than meat options! Salmon teriyaki was possibly the best I have ever had. The salmon was perfectly seared and the sauce was to die for. The bento box also had a tasty fresh salad, two dumplings, a sizable side of rice, and delicious makis (12 Avo-cucumber rolls in vegetarian, and 9 California rolls in the salmon). All of this in the bento box (and let’s not forget the miso soup) for $20! Whereas at any other restaurant you would pay $15 just for one small sushi roll. Just incredible.

We ordered delivery from Yoshi’s for my 50th birthday and it was INCREDIBLE! We had a very large order (feeding 12 people). I appreciated being able to order it the day before for delivery at a specific time; the delivery driver was right on time (actually a few minutes early) and very nice.

The sushi was fresh and delicious(and our low-carb family members loved the rice-free ones!) The hot dishes were delightful, the portions were generous, and attractively presented. Yoshi's has provided me with great food consistently over 10 or so orders. They have great maki, chicken katsu, and ramen. Their delivery people are nice and they always ring the doorbell or call before dropping off my orders. They receive/delivery my order accurately. Their food is tasty and arrives hot if it's supposed to be hot and cold if it's a cold item. The food is made and delivered quickly and is plated prettily. Their take out food comes in easily cleaned and recycled boxes which I appreciate. I will be ordering from/supporting Yoshi's so long as I live...
