Passing through on the way to Minnesota from Maryland- we were so hungry!! As soon as we walked in we were welcomed with smiles and sat at a large comfortable booth. Our waitress was kind and made sure we had everything we needed, down to the smallest detail. Our meals were not only delicious, but also made from the freshest ingredients. I had the spicy shrimp - which I highly recommend. The beef burritos that my husband ordered were perfect, my son's quesadilla was so gooey and cheesy - he was delighted. The meal was so well presented, my son decided to try rice and beans mixed together for the first time and he LOVED it. We were in a bit of a hurry as we travel with 4 dogs, so they made sure we had a delicious dinner in a timely manner. As we were leaving, the restaurant started to fill up more and every customer was treated like family. I overheard folks ask about how the owner was, which tells me that this place has repeat diners, always a great sign. Thank you for making our trip thru your town...
Read moreCame here for the first time tonight. Very impressed with the way this place looks inside. Nicely and not to overly decorated, comfortable booths, and a variety of menu items. A little cold in the restaurant tonight as I asked if they could turn up the heat.
Great authentic mexican food! I ordered the carne asada with a double order of refried beans. The carne was very delicious and seasoned very well. My wife ordered the enchiladas rancheras which she enjoyed as well. I also ordered a margerita that was $1.99 special tonight. A little disappointed as it just tasted like mix. I told the waitress I didn't want it, but will take a shot of tequila instead. Was still charged for the margerita even though I didn't drink it and sent it back. Oh well they just probably forgot to take it off the bill. This place is my go to spot for authentic mexican food! Juan the owner is very friendly as he stopped by to...
Read moreThis was my 2nd time at this restaurant because the first time I wasn’t impressed with their food but I was like lets give it one more go.
I ordered caldo de camarón(shrimp soup), my friend ordered the images I posted. He ordered coctel de camarón(shrimp cocktail) and tostadas de camarón(toasted tortilla shell topped with shrimp salad). Theres a reason I didn’t take a picture of my meal 🫣. My friend’s food looked amazing and he said it was flavorful. Now let me get to my slop aka caldo de camarón. It was by far the worst shrimp soup I have ever had. A shrimp soup only consists of shrimp. This soup had imitation crab, clams, soggy yellow squash and carrots. It was very very very obvious that the veggies were cooked frozen and not fresh. The imitation crab turned my soup to mush. The flavor was horrible. We arrived a little after 9p so I wasn’t going to order anything else because by the time we got our food it was closer to closing time. Mind you, other customers were still walking in after us to eat. Please for the love of God “Los Humildes” DO NOT use imitation anything or frozen anything in your soups! I know times are rough currently but to pay almost $20 for slop is atrocious. I promise never to come again.
On a positive note our waitress was a complete sweetheart!
