Awesome food but disgustingly poor service! I was very happy when Panda opened on the South Side, the USUAL staff including the GM are all very kind, helping and willing to exceed customer expectations – all that was destroyed by a rude incompetent supervisor named Linda. She exhibited body language like it was a personal irritation just to wait on me, then became rude, argumentative and disrespectful when I tried to place my order. Compounding the issue, I called back wanting to obtain the phone number for their District Manager, since the ‘real’ manager was on vacation, and she lied giving me a fictitious number. Oh, it gets better! I wrote a complaint on Panda’s website, got a form letter response from a Zulema R. assuring me an Area or Regional manager would reach out to me… that was March 27th. Obviously Panda could care less about customer loyalty, exceeding expectations and providing a great dining experience. With Oriental Express, New China and many more in Mishawaka, I will never go to this Panda again, and probably not any in the area, at least for a long time. Sad how one poorly trained incompetent person can ruin customer loyalty. Be smart, AVOID Panda Express on Ireland!
UPDATE 7-30-19 Disgusted and infuriated YET AGAIN with the appalling lack of customer service at the Ireland Road – South Bend location. The entire situation could have easily been avoided, yet what sickens me is the exact same thing happened a few months ago! I come in ready to order a delicious plate with my favorite entrees and side prepared a special way. Rather than PLEASE the customer and even attempt to meet (let alone exceed) customer expectations, some inexperienced and RUDE person named Jackie decided to actually argue with me. I attempted to educate her in modern customer service protocols, but she seemed delighted to argue and would rather perpetuate the situation than provide a quick and easy resolution. She called a ‘manager’ on her headset, and about 5 minutes later another red shirt employee (Chad perhaps) claimed to be the MOD and basically repeated Jackie’s dribble like a programmed robot. Nearly this same scenario took place a few months ago, but an actual manager in a black shirt came out that time and later lied to me. The people at the corporate guest relations assured me it was not Panda’s Best Practice to actively argue with customers or lie to them. They further apologized and promised to retrain the Ireland Road staff in how to provide excellent customer service rather than miserably fail. Until their best practices change, I will no longer visit Panda at any location and will encourage all my friends and family to do likewise, there are plenty of similar alternatives in the area and I’m sure that competition will not argue...
Read moreI have come through this panda today for the first time, I usually go to the other one on the other part of town. It was not busy and the staff was not rushed or busy. After asking for steamed vegetables, I was told that they will bring my food to my car due to the longer than normal cook time as the vegetables were not ready. I waited 20 minute in my car waiting. Walked back in to find my food sitting on the counter and asked why they didn’t come out. Staff proceeded to say she didn’t tell me she was bring it out and lied about ever saying that. That was not the worst part, I got a core of a cabbage that took up half the plate that was not edible. Overall, I would think that with Covid that staff would follow through with there first offer to bring my food out rather than having me come in and out of the store. The staff members are rude and did not apologize for this. Never going back again as they do not follow social distancing guidelines and staff are standing around in groups talking to each other rather than being in me...

When my coworkers and I pulled up at 8:45pm and we’re greeted with “We close soon and all we have left is (insert 3 entrees)” we knew we were in for a treat. After getting our food at 9:11pm we headed back to our hotel (less than 2 miles away). Our food was 95% rice and little to no chicken from the 2 entrees we ordered. The sauce in the containers leaked all over the bag which made everything a gigantic mess. Our fortune cookies were all smashed (just like our hopes and dreams of a decent meal at this specific Panda Express). I really wanted my fortune cookie to be whole because I really liked my fortune. It read: “You will chart a new path towards independence today.”
I mean, I had intended on sitting down and writing up a new Declaration of Independence but since my cookie was smashed I knew it was a huge waste of time (much like trying to get a decent meal from this Panda Express).
