I was jonesing for a Peanut Buster Parfait, so I pulled into this Dairy Queen with eager anticipation. When I walked in the door, I was hit by a wave of nostalgia. I used to go to Dairy Queen all the time when I was a youngun, and just reading the menu took me back... Mr Misty was my go-to treat as a kid. Who could resist a slushy with lots of flavor syrup as they make them? Not this kid! Then, when I grew older and Blizzards were created, I became addicted to them in college and visited The Queen often for an M&M Blizzard with chocolate ice cream 🤤. Always, though, Peanut Buster Parfait (PBP) made with butterscotch sauce was an option that popped up now and then to end up in my hand instead of Mr. Misty or PBP, but because I didn't like hot fudge as a kid, I always replaced it with butterscotch.
Now, here I was staring at a menu from my childhood mixed with the future (ok, technically the present, but my childhood me would have thought it was the future) and I realized I now had a dilemma on my hands regarding what I wanted to order. Peanut Buster Parfait? Blizzard (so many delicious flavor options!)? Mr Misty? My brain was overloaded with joy.
WAIT! I came here for a PBP made with butterscotch, loaded with salty peanuts in ice cream, my FAVORITE treat, by golly, that's what I was gonna get.
I ordered it and was told they no longer carry butterscotch SAUCE (writing this now, I vaguely remember when they discontinued their butterscotch sauce. Ugh), but instead, their butterscotch is only the hard dip butterscotch, from when you dip your cone. So, I did as the employees suggested and got caramel. Then I asked for a dip of butterscotch on top at the end. It was pure heaven because they gave me an extra thick dip that dropped down and formed a thick ring of solid butterscotch around the top of the ice cream, on top of the last layer of caramel and peanuts that I had to chop through to get to the layers below. Eating that PBP was an experience, and well worth the millions of calories I took in doing so. Next time, though, I'm gonna have to get a Blizzard, because Dairy Queen is where I perfected the M&M with peanut butter sauce Blizzard, so I could pass it on to Sweet Berries. They are the original...
Read moreOn Friday night 3/25/22 @ 9:54 pm, I ordered at drive thru with a friend. Ordered a mini blizzard and a chocolate cone dipped in butterscotch. I had the employee repeat the order back. My friend didn't realize until after we drove away that her order was wrong. I immediately circled back and entered the drive thru. By the time we reached the window it was closed. I held up the order and pointed at it to get the employees attention and to try to let them know that there was a problem with the order. We knocked on the window. We beeped the horn. We tried calling. The 3 young females inside ignored us. This was one of the worst episodes of horrible customer service that I have ever experienced. We did not want to order after hours, we just wanted them to correct the order but we were blatantly ignored. I will go to the Dairy Queen on Rte 70...

Girl who made them had attitude when I told I didn't want the rock candy in my blizzard if that was not bad enough the pink stuff that goes into there wasnt very much in there at all. Then i get home n the pink stuff was frozen in the ice cream. Then she makes my second one with vanilla ice cream and speficaly asked for chocolate. I wished the manager was there tonight. Plus the music was so loud in there I thought I walked into a night club. Sad sad sad. I'm not happy at all. I would like to hear from someone. I mean for $14 n change I would think the blizzard would be made properly and flipped...
