Jersey Bagels (Dayton, NJ) — Restaurant in South Brunswick

Let me preface this by saying that I have been coming here since I was a child.

Today I had a god awful experience and I will never be back. I come in and order one everything bagel with lox cream cheese and another egg everything with sausage egg and cheese. I literally watched the man behind the counter mess up the order and when he realized instead of apologizing he just lied and said they ran out of egg everything bagels. I was already agitated but I understood.

Then a minute or two later the black man behind the counter called out a sausage egg and cheese and I looked to the man who took my order and he gestured me over to him. So I walked up to grab the bagel and this man practically slapped my hand away and rudely told me that it wasn’t mine it was for a woman who had come in 10 minutes after us.

So finally after 20 minutes I get my order and was completely disrespected in the process.

Then I opened the sausage egg and cheese sandwich and it looks like a toddler constructed it. I am so livid I should have gotten a refund.

Another thing is this place is horrifically more expensive than every bagel place in the area and frankly you’re going to get better bagels and better service anywhere else.

Every positive review is from the old management. I will never be back to this...

Stopped in here recently for the 1st time in a long time. Immediately I saw the new look inside and a whole new group of people. Obviously it must've changed ownership at some point. I ordered the belly buster, which isnt a true belly buster at all. It was a very small wrap with a piece of this, piece of that, etc. Just because there is a bunch of items in it, it doesn't make it a belly buster. Belly busters I've had are loaded like a big burrito you would get at chipotle. Plus it had a hashbrown in it when it should have home fried potatoes. The other thing about the hashbrown too is that it tasted awful. With 100% certainty you could taste it was cooked it old dirty oil. It's an unmistakable odor and taste that cant go unnoticed. They also dont have French toast bagels or super cinnamon bagels as that was what I mainly wanted. They said they have French toast bagels but only on the weekend. I've never been to a bagel shop that has never had French toast bagels which...

I work in the area on the weekends and this place is on my route so I stop here once or twice a month. Honestly speaking, nothing has a taste. The egg bagels taste like nothing mixed with like, wax paper. I get pork roll and cheese or bacon and egg on an egg bagel and it NEVER has a solid taste. I eat it just because I payed and am hungry. Any other place I've been to, weather it's good or bad, at least has flavor to it. Idk what they're doing wrong, but it just isn't good.... like ever. I've been here at least 40 times, but I don't think I'll be going here anymore.. The lady at the front is ALWAYS complaining about something as well. The bacon is like the lowest quality also, expect some indigestion if you eat it. Pork roll should have a saltiness to it....but it doesn't. Sorry, it just isn't good for NJ standards with several other restaurants within a few minutes. Maybe in Minnesota or something this place would be...
