We enjoyed our meal at La Taverna, and, if the occasion presents itself, we would certainly return. A testament to the popularity of La Taverna is that there were a significant number of guests for an early dinner on a Friday night. We were in the area for a social gathering, and so we sought something light for dinner. Over the years we have found some restaurants work better with different requests than others, and it is a credit to our waiter and the staff at La Taverna that our requests were addressed in style. Given it was a busy evening at La Taverna we were impressed that we were treated as well for our "light" repast as others who were enjoying a full course meal. We shared several dishes: a plate of calamari: nicely prepared and presented; a bowl of mussels (those who follow my reviews know mussels and their prep is a passion for me): prepared in a "just right" slightly spicy broth and served with nice bread for dipping; and a Caesar Salad that was perfect for the two of us. My wife had a Cosmo, which, she proclaimed, was "just right" (as passionate as I am about mussels, my followers know my wife is a dedicated Cosmo Connoisseur). Our server was very accommodating and friendly, making suggestions for the best results. He was attentive without being bothersome, a great balance. Water glasses and bread for the table were always on hand. La Taverna is very clean, the decor pleasant. We shared a small dining room with a few other parties, but noise was at a minimum, so conversation was easy. The parking lot was busy, but certainly adequate for the number of people dining on this busy evening. We enjoyed our meal at La Taverna. Perhaps you'll stop in and enjoy a...
ย ย ย Read moreNew Review: Our last visit to this place was excellent. Enough that I had to flip the rating. The server was super attentive, listened and asked the chief about allergies, and literally all the food was excellent (impressive) on an almost $300 bill. My only suggestions are to make it a little more family friendly: add a changing table in the bathroom (we've had to change our toddler in the parking lot twice so far) and add a formal kids menu that indicates allergies (after asking, we have a better idea but we almost never came here after seeing no kids options). A separate menu does not hurt anyone.
Old Review: Not the best experience ever. The waitress made a few mistakes that kinda made our experience lackluster. My wife's soup didn't come out until we asked for it 10 minutes into apps so my soup got cold, waiting, her entree was also put in with the wrong special, so when it came out, I had my entree and my wife had to wait for hers to come out - had to eat mine alone so it didn't also go cold, then she got to eat hers alone while we waited. The downstairs bathroom was occupied so the waitress told her she could go upstairs with our 2yr old, but then the owner stopped her and told her she couldn't go upstairs. Everything was mixed signals, no cohesiveness, and for $120+ bill for 2.5 people, kinda sideways. Things do happen so there's really no one to blame but it just equaled a not-so-great equation. The sad part was the...
ย ย ย Read moreVisited this place for the second time in last one month our experience for the first time was great and thought we would give them a second chance with few guests for dinner. The table we got was in the corner good for our size of group but window A/C was blowing air right on th persons sitting on two chairs. Appetizers and Salad were great if you like garlic I highly recommend their roasted pepper & cheese plate its a great combination either with their house bread or with garlic cheese bread on the menu. Their bread dipping oil is also very nice with basil pesto. Our second time experience however with the entrees was not too pleasing. We ordered Gnocchi in Marinara sauce with basil also ordered Roasted Pepper & Asparagus ravioli in Vodka Sauce both the Sauces had real sour taste to it like it had vinegar in them. Since our first experience was really good and on second experience except those two entrees we got decent food I give them 4 stars. If on my third visit if we have to again sit at A/C blowing on the face and eat sour pasta I might go and...
