We used to come for their buffet which was extensive, but since COVID, we've ordered take out from China Star several times. We order via the phone, which is fast and easy. Not sure if they have online ordering set up. Our order usually consists of pork egg rolls, (vegetable/chicken) lo mein, vegetable fried rice, and one or two of the following: beef and broccoli, hunan beef, peanut butter chicken. We always feel full and satisfied. Their egg rolls are big, crispy and full. They are quite addicting. The vegetable lo mein and chicken lo mein have both been tasty, the noodles are cooked well, and it is more dry than saucy-but you can always add any sauces as you like. We love their peanut butter chicken, which is a flavor explosion of crispy chicken, salty and sweet peanut butter sauce- a staple in their buffet. Their beef dishes, specifically the hunan beef and beef and broccoli are flavorful, with well-cooked beef and crispy stir fry vegetables. Their dinner combinations come with an egg roll and rice, its a generous amount of food and a great value for the amount you get. We usually have leftovers. We've tried their hot and sour soup which was good too. Pick up is easy. They have closed the actual restaurant/seating place and have a pick up window. The last time we ordered a bit more than usual, and the staff threw in a few sodas which was kind and definitely appreciated. This has become our reliable local Chinese spot! Definitely worth trying if you're in the area or craving some good...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is my go to Chinese restaurant when neither me or my wife wants to cook. It's a very reasonably priced all you can eat buffet, under thirty for two with sodas for each. The food is solid, simple and plentiful. They have lots of american Chinese dishes: chicken and broccoli, general Tso's chicken, fried peanut butter chicken, chicken on a stick, boneless ribs, sweet and sour chicken, white and vegetable fried rice, etc.
It's not the widest selection of platters I've ever seen, but the food they serve is consistent and reliably good. There are very few items here that I would not try.
My only wish is that they have steamed dumplings instead of fried, but I guess fried dumplings...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a buffet without a buffet. The food is great when it's buffet food, but the place is useless when you have to pay high prices ($13 for one box of chicken, you can literally buy 6 pounds of chicken for that price) for buffet food. I'm starting to think they are purposely keeping it this way because they can save on staff and utilities while charging extreme prices for the same food. They aren't making the same quality food as other Chinese joints, but expect you to pay the same price and wait in a lobby to get your food. The pandemic has been over a while, there's really no excuses anymore. There's another Chinese place a half a mile...
