Food was great scrambled eggs, tater tots warm crunchy on outside and soft and smooth from inside, biscuits were okay, blueberry pancake was well made and Plain Latte turned out good. Our server was always smiling and brought correct order. I was with my friend and it was she who wanted to pay for me as well as last few times I had been paying. So come out to the cashier and I remember in December during Christmas days the line was starting from right where you come out of dining room make a right and stand there which is parallel to wooden register desk. The left register was only open at that time. Today I saw 2 registers open. We just came out of dining room and saw a white old guy paying on Right register, another black guy standing behind him holding the receipt in his hand. I couldn't even see another line that is behind the shelves with products for sale. My friend got busy looking at products around and I was waiting for the guy ahead of us to go to register. In mean time the white old guy at register turned around and kept staring at me finally saying "oh I saw you yesterday where you were not supposed to be" with such a bizarre statement and I understood he was implying about the current line that I am in line that is not really a line. But I told him I wasn't anywhere out yesterday and was at home all day. You got it wrong. I left to see where my friend was and came back in few seconds. And then the guy ahead of us started calling customers lined up at left register in right register lane..! I am like why are you calling them here? He said they were here first! Well if there was one line then why would you stand behind that old guy and make it look like there were 2 lines? After all customers from left register line finished checking, We were last on right register while 1 more customer on left register. Now the right register lady tells us I am closed! So we ended up totally last and I had to tell those ladies what just happened! They told me the guy ahead of us refused to stand in line near left register! So he was just standing on right side which I had no clue because there is No Said rule that "LINE STARTS HERE"! Maybe a simple board reading "LINE STARTS HERE" would help avoid such confusion and delays! In fact the lady at register told me how the line should actually start from where we were standing parallel to register desk. So when you come out of the restaurant and make a left there should be a line right there next to register which how it was in December. Lady also said that for Old people and disabled it would be convenient that way which I agree and in addition people won't be hiding behind the product shelves for someone to figure out where the line is! And now it was...
Read moreWe were told we had a 30 min wait and ended waiting an hour and 5 mins before we were seated. Apparently, a family checked in online before us, but they kept adding more and more people after they arrived. Instead of the manager telling them they only checked in X amount of tables, they allowed this one party of people to take up 9 tables, which pushed everyone else back and going from a 30 min wait to an hour or more. Once we were seated, our table was dirty, but the waitress quickly cleaned off the plates and wiped it down. She was quick with taking our order but took a long time to bring drinks. She was nice and friendly and did her best considering the number of people she had at the party that consumed the place before we were finally seated. My elderly mothers food wasn't good, and neither was my husband's, so they asked for the food to be taken back. The waitress seemed annoyed, but she complied. We, a family of 4, ended up being at Cracker Barrel for over 2 hrs just to eat. Once we got to the checkout, my husband noticed the waitress charged us for the food that she reordered, which was an additional $16 onto our bill. My husband explained to them it was only ordered because it wasn't good the first time. The manager had an attitude to which my husband firmly told him he wasn't paying for extra for food that wasn't good in the first place when we should have been treated better after being there for 2 hours. They switched back the price to the 4 meals we ordered, and we paid. He didn't comp anything, but he sure did give my husband the death stare behind his back. Cracker Barrel will never be worth a 2 hr wait and especially with this...
Read moreMy daughters and I went out to enjoy a little late breakfast. As usual, I let my kids decide the where and they chose Cracker Barrel. The wait was a little long but, hey, it was Saturday. I would have given the rating 4 stars. However, when we were finally seated, the hostess mentioned our table server (not a fan of that term...) would be Todd. Todd came over, a seasoned gentleman. From start to finish Todd was a Class A, Class 1, First Class man. His positive energy, positive attitude, kindful & caring demeanor were infectious. He kept is filled with our "cawfy" as he gently jested about my accent. Our orders were on point. There were thre of us and we were seated at a table for four. During his 5 min break, instead of going outside, he asked if he could sit with us. We were absolutely delighted. After he returned to his shift, I told my girls whatever I have in my wallet, it what he is getting tipped. He more than deserved it. Well it turn out I had $45 in my wallet. So when he brought our check I said I'll put the check on my card but this is for you and handed him $45. We saw tears in his eyes but more importantly gratitude and love in his heart. He said "thank you so much. You really made my day". I responded "no, Todd, you made ours. Turns out our bill was $45.49. Todd truly earned that tip simply because of his kind, welcoming nature..something we thought disappeared in our current environment. Thank you, Todd, for being a true gentleman and first class human. CB, take care of Todd. He takes care of you bu taking care of us. Todd exudes professionalism and kindness. This is something that should be rewarded and celebrated. Todd...
