We first encountered Culver's during our time in northern Illinois in the '90s, and regularly enjoyed their frozen custard, a.k.a. ice cream during those years. It was always great. The restaurants in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin were always clean and well run. Their employees were always polite and well-trained, and my "food" order was always correct with the same quality (good quality) every time. With dozens of experiences with various Culver locations in the mid-west, and not remembering having a single issue, the contrast with my average experience with other fast food businesses is dramatically different. I always ask myself why can't more fast food restaurants "get it right" more often. So, when Culver's opened on Woodruff Road a few years ago I wondered if the north-base Culver's organization was going to be able to offer the same positive experience I had enjoyed up north. We live very nearby, and I am an ice cream fanatic, so I've had experiences with this Culver's location, probably 75 times. They consistently offer the same things I've always returned to Culver's for, which are: Incredibly creamy smooth, delicious ice cream/frozen custard (I always have their awesome Turtle Sundae), made to order hot fast fresh food (Butter Burgers, a.k.a.Hamburgers, Codfish sandwiches, and always hot crinkle-cut fries). Thanks Culver's. What is a bit funny is that every time I've been in this restaurant they have the prog-rock band, Coldplay playing on their sound system. If Coldplay isn't playing at the moment one of their tunes will be playing next. But, I like Coldplay so...
Read moreWe had lunch there today at approximately 11:30 a.m. After ordering our food we went to get our drinks. The drink area was a mess with spilled liquid everywhere on the counters, and the garbage can beside it was full and overflowing. There were no lids for the drinks. There were no cups for the ketchup. One ketchup dispenser was gone, and the other one was empty. When I went to tell the front counter about this, the woman rudely threw to go ketchups at me and did not seem concerned at all about all the issues in the condiment area. There was another customer beside me in the condiment area remarking as well about how dirty it was and how much that location had gone downhill. This has been my same experience over the last few visits. No one seems to care, and there doesn't seem to be any floor lead or manager telling them what to do. Several employees just seem to be standing around with no task and not proactively trying to clean, restock, etc. This location used to be good but has definitely gone down over last few months. I don't think I will be...
Read moreI have been going here since moving here four years ago. At first the food and service were excellent. But now, any time I come and just get ice cream, the wait is ridiculous. I ordered two mixers tonight at the drive through. The restaurant had customers but nothing crazy and no line I could see inside. One car in front of me in the drive through. After the car in from of me was served pretty quickly, I pulled forward and proceeded to wait. One, two, three cars behind me were served. 15 minutes had gone by. I called in to say how long I’d been waiting for such a small order. Was told they were on their way out with it. The next order out two minutes later was again for the car behind me. Finally after 20 minutes, my order came. I’m done going here. There’s apparently no priority on ice cream and you get it when they feel like getting to it. And this wasn’t the first time with a ridiculous wait. One time I had to say something inside because our order was set there and ignored by the staff for over 10 minutes to just be...
