This was our first visit and we had a couple of learning -curve issues with our food order. Pros: our take-out order was still nice and hot when we sat down to eat. The sesame chicken was delicious, we liked the veggie lo mein, and the spring roll was perfect. The meat and veggies are all fresh-tasting and the texture was great. We love having brown rice as an option. The Mongolian beef was delish but too spicy for our kids. Next time I’ll order 1-star spice level. Cons: The pork dumplings were seemingly deep-fried and we were expecting pan-fried like potstickers. We didn’t realize the rice was underneath the entrees and I would definitely have liked to know that ahead of time. Our rice was absolutely saturated and soggy with the entees’ sauces to the point of being inedible which made the value of our meal drop significantly since we were counting the rice to be an edible side dish. We paid $55 for Mongolian beef ($15), sesame chicken ($13), vegetable lo mein ($13), 3 pork dumplings and 1 spring roll (individually priced). For the price of these entrees, I was expecting a family-style take-out meal like most other Asian restaurants I have been to. These are prepared like a hearty single serving with the rice underneath. If we order again, I will ask for the rice on the side. The was the biggest flaw with our meal, it was unappetizing and we are definitely not sauce haters! Overall, it was pretty good and I considered I learning curve experience with a new place we hadn’t been to before. We will likely try it again.

My husband and I wanted to try this place out so we ordered take out on a Friday night a few weeks ago. My husband ordered the General Tso's chicken and I got the shrimp fried rice. We also ordered some spring rolls as well. My husband said the inside was really nice and they were very busy but the food was ready when he went in to pick it up. He's been trying to find a General Tso with the right amount of heat and he loved it but he said he wishes they would put the rice in a separate container so the rice doesn't soak up all the sauce from the chicken. Since the rice soaked up the sauce, the chicken was kind of dry. My shrimp fried rice was good. The shrimp were good quality. I felt like the flavors of the fried rice could be better but I will definitely order this again. Their white sauce is kinda of sweet and it's really good The spring rolls were fresh and had great flavor. My husband ordered the General Tso again last night and he put in the notes to put the rice in a separate container and he said the chicken was amazing as all the chicken was soaking up the sauce which is what he wanted. When ordering online, you get to select your spice level which my husband through was really good. I got the chicken fried rice and it was good but I think I like the shrimp better. Overall, we really like the place and we will definitely return.

My husband and I decided to try some take out. We’ve been excited for a GOOD Asian restaurant. When I was ordering, asked if I could get fried rice. The cashier explained that with an entree, the choices were white rice, brown rice etc., if I wanted fried rice that is separate and $6.00 on top of entree. I was already aware of higher prices, so opted for brown rice. Got home and my husband (former chef) had his Garlic Chicken noodles and there were not any vegetables. Green onion, chicken & noodles. He was disappointed, left a review. The restaurant replied rudely and condescending…we weren’t interested in fast food as they responded to my husband’s review. No worries not paying those prices for rudeness and unprofessional management! Good luck…you’ll never make it! We’re going back to Lieu’s Chinese Bistro… ***cashier wasn’t rude…you are! We were aware of price prior, but knew the affiliation and unfortunately gave you a chance…the picture is deceptive then!

After being to CHPSTX probably 5 times now, I can confidently say this is a big step up from other local Chinese fast/fast casual food in the area. No steam trays here and you can tell the ingredients are fresh and cooked to order. The chicken dishes I've had always come with a crispy coating with tender meat underneath and the veggies maintain the just-right amount of snap without ever getting close to being mushy like inferior places in town suffer from.

The prices are very fair for the amount of food you get, especially from the lunch menu, and I've always ended up with leftovers.

The only negative I can say is their prices for appetizers seem a bit strange - I'm not used to ordering just one crab rangoon or pork wonton, and the individual prices seem a bit high for what you get for those two items. Not a big deal, just understand you're getting just 1 of each per order.

The staff is super friendly, especially the owners that always make it a point to sincerely welcome you and say goodbye on your way out. You can tell this is the same team from the original Lieus and current Lieus Asian Bistro. I fondly remember being one of their first customers when the original Lieus opened and am glad to have another one of their places to be a...
