I visited this Denny’s today (Store# 9245, 2514 Sunset Blvd, West Columbia, SC 29169), Thanksgiving 11/23/2023, for the second time in the past 2-3 weeks. The food was great both times, the price was affordable and the service was incredible. All the ladies and gents working so hard, especially on Thanksgiving for people like myself who don’t have any family here in SC, are absolutely amazing and friendly. Any request/question I’ve had, has been fulfilled/answered in a timely manner, with the upmost respect, politeness and just genuine care for the guests.
I say all that to say this as well. Being that today is Thanksgiving, as I was on my way to this specific Dennys, I saw a homeless man sitting on the grass, on the side of the road and alone. All I wanted to do was to somehow make his Thanksgiving day just a little warmer, comfortable and less alone. Just wanted to make him feel a little more seen and know that there are people out there who care and want to help, even if it’s just conversation. Only issue was, I had nothing on me to help at all. That’s where this amazing establishment and its huge hearted, loving and blessed staff comes in to play. In the middle of eating my meal, I mentioned the situation to my server Charlie, then asked if there was any chance that Dennys would be willing to provide some hot coffee, water and a hot plate of food for this less fortunate human being, in which I would’ve been more than happy to drop off to him. Without any hesitation, Charlie proceeded to let me know that she would be more than happy to ask her managers on duty, as well as the regional or district manager (can’t quite remember which it was they said). As I was finishing up my meal, and with a smile on her face and a huge heart, Charlie brought over those exact items. I then thanked the entire staff (from the managers to kitchen staff to bus persons), before I left to take this man his blessing. On my way out the door, a gentleman from the kitchen crew let me know “that’s an amazing deed”, which reminded me that our society is not all lost and there are still incredible people out here. I can’t speak well enough, nor show my appreciation enough, to these angelic men and women who made not only my day, but more importantly the less fortunate man who received his blessing with a smile, 100 thank yous and watery eyes. God bless the entire staff at this specific Dennys on Sunset Blvd in West Columbia SC, and their families. May they all have an absolutely blessed Thanksgiving and may God bless them all with their own fortunate and blessings of his own choosing asap! Incredible....
Read moreWell I must say I am truly disappointed in Dennys this go around. We can here at 8pm and we was greeted eventually. Now keep this in mind the store was not busy there was one server on the floor. The 2 tables that where there prior to us was about to leave and check out. Ok no worries totally understand. So we wait patiently. She gets out drink order I order a coffee, a milkshake and a sweet tea. She comes back with the coffee and milkshake no sweet tea. Says she will be right back. 5 min later she comes back. Might as go ahead and order. So chicken bacon ranch sandwich with wavy fries. Bread was SUPER HARD AND CRUNCHY. fries were cold and cooked in old oil. Bacon double burger was good according to my kid and the egg burger was good as well. My coffee was NOT FRESH or HOT. and she came to refill the sweet tea but we asked for napkins and honest mustard that was originally asked for when we put in our order. So 10 mins later after I seen her walking back and forth we decided to get our own napkins now by this time she's on the other side of the store sees my kid walking towards kitchen. She was like oh can I help you he said yeah I'd like some napkins please .. oh yeah I totally forgot. ... okayyy.... well finally we got the napkins. She asked how my coffee was I said gross. She said oh I'll make you a fresh pot. We'll technically you would've made a fresh pot knowing I ordered coffee n what you already had was not fresh. But she said she didn't do any of the things "intentionally " when nothing was said that she did makes me believe she was doing it intentionally. So anyways. I will not go back to that location again you can tell when ppl take pride in what they do and who don't it starts in the kitchen all the way to the service. It was about the service well the lack there of for me. And the nasty old unintentional...
Read moreI am a long time customer of Denny’s. I go to Denny’s almost three days a week. However I think today maybe my last day supporting this establishment and others may follow from entire hospital. The cook has cooked my food incorrectly. Harsbrown isn’t done and hardly no vegetables in the Omelette, just a bunch of meat. Not only he cooked it incorrectly, when the waiter tried to get him to fix it correctly, he wouldn’t. He proceeded to come to the front, be loud and very rude. He also went over to a customer and was loud and rude while rudely interrupting a conversation that i was having with the waiter. When you enter the establishment isn’t clean at all. Dust everywhere, spiderwebs on the bear machine, and glass is very dirty It seem like since the pandemic they have forgotten about how to treat customers and allow workers to treat customers badly. It seem like they hired anybody over the Integrity of the business. I have file a complaint with corporate. If I don’t hear from them, i will be back to post pictures and informing the hospital as well . I am shocked that the manager of this establishment allowed this happen and wasn’t no where to be found. In order to avoid an argument and getting myself out of character, I decided to leave and file a complaint. So, in my opinion I suggest no one goes there because of the rude cook and he doesn’t cook your food correctly. It seem like the cook runs the business and everybody does what he says. I am very disgusted, shock, and hurt about what happen today. This use to be the best Denny’s but now I see they are not to the 3.9...
