2nd Edit:
Today will be the last time we order from New Asia, not because of their food, nor their service, both are great. It's the pricing that has continued to go up and the final straw of them charging A FEE to use your card. This is absurd. The price has increased by almost 35% since we moved here in 2019 and now for them to pass on an expense of doing business to the customer is our final straw. The people are extremely friendly and kind, the food is good for this area, I've only had one or two issues w our order and both were minor issues.... thats coming from a household that spends entirely too much on chinese every month and typically orders it once a week.
I just cannot continue to justify the price increases and then be asked to now pay for their business expense of owning and operating a restaurant, that's what you're asking your customers to do. If we're craving chinese or Asian, we'll hit Fuji or one of the 10 other restaurants that service the area. If New Asia recognizes this is a very bad business move and recourses it, we'll be happy to return.
Edit: So we gave them another try and have never had any issues since. We've continued ordering from them over the past 4 years and they've never missed up an order and are always very courteous and professional. Food is a solid 7, not the best Chinese I've ever had but certainly better than the other restaurants around the immediate area. Their teriyaki chicken is one of the shining stars on the menu. Ojw thing I will also note is, some Chinese restaurants have a tendency to make your food in the same wok as seafood. It makes the entire dish you order, say lomein w beef tastes like nothing but someones previous seafood dish. That is NOT the case at this restaurant. Their lomein is pretty good. I perfer more oil/sauce but is still a solid dish. The one item i would strongly suggest steering clear of is the egg foo young. It was inedible, tastes like oil and was off. Outside of ONE disk, everything has been delicious, fast and done by a very nice and courteous family that own this restaurant. Prices have increased assuming a response to inflation. Hopefully they will update them as prices continue to go down.
Original review- The dishes would've been amazing but literally all the rice has hard spots in it. From the steamed to the beef fried rice, it made it inedible. Again the meat and vegs were amazing but the rice was horrible. In a word of first impressions I dont think we'll return but if we do I truly hope they make sure the basis of the cuisine...
Read moreWe have been eating Chinese food every Christmas now for 8 years. We moved to the area from Scottsdale, AZ and have been worried WHERE are we going to find GOOD Chinese food for Christmas? Our family has been trying different restaurants in the last 6 months and all failed due to lack of flavor, too much breading, greasy, NO spice for a spicy dish, little for the amount we paid. Just all in all not happy with the restaurants, owners were all very friendly not a problem there. So its GO TIME...my husband says where are we getting our Chinese from tonight? I pulled the trigger and went with New Asia Chinese Restaurant! From the moment I ordered for take out the young lady that answered was a delight. We went to pick it up the restaurant was of course busy but the young lady behind the counter was courteous and my husband wanted to fix our 17year old son up with her! lol Nonetheless, when we got home the food was very good, we got the orange chicken which was cooked perfectly, not overly breaded and had a nice zing to it. The pork fried rice was flavorful and full of pork chunks and mixed veggies. The sweet and sour chicken was nice white meat with out a lot of breading. Next time I will order something spicer and fingers crossed it will be as good as the other 3 items we received. Gave us forks, napkins, and sauces for our food along with fortune cookies. Our family is looking forward to eating there again next week as we try to eat Chinese at least one a week! Very much...
Read moreSo we have been coming here since we moved to this area 6 years ago. Never ever had a bad dish, once every blue moon we get a dish that is not quite up to what we expect from here but still not “bad” I always forget that they aren’t open on mondays so when I was craving Chinese something fierce yesterday (4/28/25) it wasn’t until I was on the road that I realized they were closed. A few curse words later, I found a place in Inman that had 4 stars. In hindsight I should have read the reviews, but I ordered and picked up the “food”. I will never ever ever eat anywhere for Chinese but New Asia. I’ll wait the day.
New Asia food always tastes fresh and omg the general tso’s is tender with so much lovely sauce. The Hunan is beautifully spicy and the rice is always perfectly done.
The best part now is that we get these wonderful inspirational notes that make me smile a big stupid grin and the storefront is cleaner and brighter.
Look y’all I have tried several different places that people said were “authentic” and “really good” they had to be either drunk or never really tasted authentic anything. Every single place I tried (except for new Asia) was bad and more expensive!!
So, $106 later, we have three unfinished plates from the horrible place in Inman, an expensive lesson learned, and New Asia is still the...
