This place came highly recommended to us which is why I’m kinda disappointed. Me and my boyfriend ate here this weekend for our two year anniversary. I had put this on the reservation but nothing was mentioned so I assume their reservation system isn’t that advanced whatever. We were seated in the side room to the left with a couple of other younger couples. It was a bit cramped and I was very disappointed when I went to use the bathroom and saw how gorgeous the main dining area was and couldn’t help but notice lots of older folk sat there. Makes me think they put all the young people in a room because they’re less likely to complain about where they’re seated. Or we just all happened to be unlucky enough that the seating rotation but us there 🤷 I ordered the duck and my boyfriend ordered the New York strip. Corn bread and salad came out to start us off and they were both good nothing to note. Our server, bless her heart, was so sweet and kept checking up on us but not over crowding the table. Service was wonderful no complaints there. The duck I ordered was soy and ginger marinated with a raspberry coulis and it was just bad. It was my fault for not saying anything or sending it back in favor of something else but I ate that whole damn thing mama didn’t raise no quitter. But I felt as though the soy sauce over powered the duck and it just tasted like soy and the raspberry coulis did not pair well either the soy sauce flavor. I think if the sauce was strained as well it would’ve been better as the seeds stuck to my teeth as they do not very pleasant. Strained or not it still doesn’t compliment the soy flavors of the duck which honestly I think that’s what ruined it for me. I tried some of my boyfriend’s steak and it was alright. Kinda just a steak it wasn’t terribly seasoned but it wasn’t overly flavorful. Lacked that oomph that you would expect to come with the price tag. He also got some mushrooms on the side he said were under cooked and under seasoned but I hate mushrooms so I couldn’t tell ya. Overall we left very disappointed. My boyfriend never went to use the bathroom so he didn’t even see the big dining area. We were trying to figure out what kind of room we were in when the place was a church and the most we could think was broom closet or storage room. It really was such a shame on such a...

I won't go into the problems the night but there were many..except the staff which was wonderful...however my interactions with Stephen the manager was something I can still hardly believe. The meal we had was Dec 20th and I'm still upset...he basically called me (3pm Christmas eve) to belittle me and was extremely rude. Tried to lie about his name accused me of being illiterate when the message I sent was clearly voice recognition that went haywire because of how upset I was the morning after. Claiming I was wrong about the weather even...it was my parents 60th anniversary and there were multiple issues... one of his problems with me was that I had to many complaints, I just said what happened...also I had to be full of it because I didn't cause a scene there...which is exactly what someone with an 83 and 84 year old wants to do.. When I asked him if he just call to Berate me he just lit into me more. He also claimed it wasn't raining or cold I could go on. He thought it was a threat to saw he would post my email...go for it and my vm...where at the end I hadn't hung up so u overhear a private convo where I told my if that I was hoping if the were to rectify the issue maybe I would just see if they would donate maybe a $200 gift card to be auctioned at a local non-profit I'm associated with..this was less then we spent btw and not for me as we don't won't to eat there ever again, sadly since I had been hearing about this place. I thought that would be a great win for both parties...go ahead post the email...im trying to live a better life and don't ever leave bad reviews. But this still upsets me, obviously. But what would I'm just a blow hard illiterate and he runs a place that "never has bad reviews and only 5 stars" he's a weatherman and a doctor too evidently. Once again the staff was great the night of the dinner but "Bob" T was the most unprofessional Encounter I've ever had a place that's supposed to be... I've sent multiple emails and texts just looking for at least an...

Planned on celebrating our 46th anniversary at this restaurant. Arrived 20 minutes early, hostess was not at station for a good 5 minutes, 7 guest waiting. We were told that we needed to wait until 7:30. As soon as my wife left for the restroom hostess seated me. I told her that my wife just went to the restroom and she said that she would let her know where we were seated. When my wife returned to the lobby she thought that maybe I left for the restroom and waited. The hostess would come and go to her station but never let my wife know where we were seated. My wife finally asked her if she knew where I went and that’s when she took her to the table. We were seated in a room that had a table with 10 people seated and another with 12 to 14 people. They apparently knew each other and were shouting back and forth to each other. It was obvious that had been drinking. Never had I have been in a restaurant that was so loud. My wife asked if we should ask to be moved and went to talk to the manager as I was talking to the waiter and asking for a local recommendation. The manager apologized and moved us to a table in the next room that was closed in, similar to a closet, that had very little leg room. Soon the hostess served us water, I guess that’s why she wasn’t at her station, and told us that our server would be with us soon. As we waited for the server the customers that came in with us and had no reservations were seated at a nice table toward the center of the room. After waiting another 5 minutes and no server we decided to leave. As we were walking out the front door the hostess thanked us for coming… dah..still didn’t know who we were. Would not recommend this restaurant. Went to Ruth Chris, dropped $300, and enjoyed a nice...

TOP NOTCH. Highly recommended for anyone in the Holden Beach/Ocean Isle/North Myrtle/Myrtle area looking for a pricier formal setting with a creative atmosphere. The creative atmosphere I reference is the fact that this restaurant is built in an old church with beautiful stained glass windows throughout. I recommend you visit their website and read up on the interesting history of how it came to be. Their menu is diverse with great red meat (lamb, pig, and cow), avian (duck and chicken), and seafood options. I visited the restaurant with a party of six (my family of four with 2 small children and my in-laws). We started the dinner off with various grains, crackers at first and then some wonderful bread options (kaiser, sesame seed, sunflower seed, and cornbread). All of the bread was moist with just the right textures in the crusts. Our salad was served family style with a salad bowl. The house vinaigrette complimented the fresh greens perfectly. Next came the main course. I ordered the pan seared duck breast. It was the best duck I have ever had and I have had a few great duck plates in my time. The duck's tenderness was enough to cut with a spoon. It was juicy and complimented with a wonderful raspberry jam glaze. I also tried a bite of my wife's glazed porkchop and we both thought it was delicious. Our server was very thoughtful and considerate. She modified our children's orders for both the pasta and the ice cream sundae to meet their specific needs. I capped the dinner off with a coffee and a delicious amoretto cheesecake. The cheesecake was delicious, topped with amoretto with fresh strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries on the side. Go to this restaurant. You won't regret it.
