Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in South Carolina

I have been coming to this tropical smoothie for years but after tonight, I’ll think twice before coming back. I went in and ordered my girlfriend and I smoothies. We asked for them to be made special, but no different than we have ever asked for before. When we got the smoothies my girlfriends smoothies they was missing peanut butter. Noticing the mistake I walked back in to inform them it had been made. The young lady who took my order was at the register with another customer so I waited behind thinking she would ask what was wrong after she finished with the current customer. Boy was I wrong. As soon as she finished with the customer she quickly turned and walked away grabbing something off the counter and disappearing from site. After a minute or 2 she returned putting gloves on to make food, leaving me standing at the cash register. After a couple of moments another young lady walked up the register and asked me if something was wrong. I explained to her the situation and she told me to hang on. I stood off to the side so that they could continue to serve other customers. While waiting I heard that another customer closer to the employees age had a smoothie that had been made incorrectly. She immediately insisted that they fix the smoothie. That she would feel better if they fixed it, while I waited with my incorrect smoothie off to the side. After about 5 minutes the young lady who asked me what happened walked back to another young lady and said, “he’s not leaving”. She then walked back up front and asked me if I still had the smoothie. I handed her the smoothie and she said, “thank you, we are going to add the stuff to it.” She then took the smoothie to the back and poured it back into a blender, yes the smoothie we had already drank out of, to add the missing ingredients. After another 3-5 minutes she returned with the smoothie. Given that we have ordered this same smoothing many times over the last 2 years my girlfriend could tell it still wasn’t made right but she wasn’t having me deal with them again. The customer service, as you can see, by these young ladies was horrendous. Who ever the hiring manager for this company is should really consider putting there employees through a customer...

I absolutely love tropical smoothie!! So I hate to write a negative remark! But I have been going to this location for over 2 yrs Bc of location convenience. The main downfall was they did not have the levelup for the rewards(seeing as I’m always getting food at a tropical I love the rewards). But the last few months the customer service has been below average!! The ppl act as if they don’t like their job, and customers are inconvenient. Which is a feeling I hate, seeing as I’m spending my hard earned funds there. Today I finally decided to write a review on This Location Bc clearly no changes are being made; even with the new hires over the years. So as for today I need something changed for my daughter’s order who is 4. I tell them I would like everything the same just to change what the meat was put on. I even apologized for the mix up. & instead of them saying something polite or even simply telling me we can fix it for you, but there will be a 55 cent charge. Which is what they charged me after going back and forth over the phone. Then to come in and have to somewhat deal with the manager on duty who barely even Acknowledged me at all. And acted as if she also had attitude for simply giving me something that I was asking for and paying for. Instead of them fixing the sandwich for me they gave me the bread on the side & didn’t even have the decency to tell me at least have a good day. I ordered Chia banana boost smoothie and also have tried the cranberry truffle smoothie. I prefer the Chia banana boost. It had a good taste and balanced flavor. It had chia seeds and it as well as peanut butter, oatmeal, almonds, dates, banana and coconut cream. They let you substitute an item that you may not want in it with another item in it. I ordered it online to pick it up and it was very simple to substitute something else in it. It was ready at the promise time that was posted online that said it would be ready . The price was $7.99 for a 24 oz cup.

The cranberry truffle was good as well it had a stronger taste of fruit in it which was not bad at all. It had strawberries in it and cranberries white chocolate, nonfat yogurt and cranberry juice I substituted the cranberry juice and had mangoes in it instead. The price was $7.99 for a 24 oz cup.

I decided to have it inside their place the table had some straw wrappers that were left behind but otherwise every thing else in the store look pretty clean. I was immediately greeted when walking into pick up my order with a smile and a warm welcome.
