China King Buffet — Restaurant in South Charleston

4/3/25 I ordered pickup. They charged me 75 cents for a spoonful of hot chili sauce. And I ordered 2 egg rolls but they charged me for 2 orders of egg rolls which is 4 egg rolls and then they charged me $1.00 extra for sweet and sour sauce. I didn't order extra ss sauce. Every Asian restaurant I have ever been to gives ss sauce with egg rolls included in the price.

11/1/24- prices go up every few months. $11 now for 7-11 years old. 12yo is adult price $14. We don't come as a family now, only occasionally with 2 or 3 of us instead of 6.

8/2/24 - It is $7 for 3 year old. $40 for 2 adults and a 3 year old. The kids prices are really out of control. If your goal is to keep children and families away then you're succeeding. Maybe my children are not like everyone else. They just don't eat enough to get our money's worth. $10 for 7 year old!?

Prices keep going up. $10 for 7 year old! I thought $10 was too much for my 9 year old now its the same price for 7 year old. We didn't get our money's worth. The 7 year old was $6 a few weeks ago. That's a $4 increase! We will only get take-out now and less often. Just last year we were paying $43 without drinks for our family of 5 ($10.61 less) now we are paying $53.61 without drinks.

2021: Great service and food. Its actually nice that during covid they are serving you at the buffet because I don't have to do it for my kids but i miss making my plate the way i like it. But i'm surprised that they charge only $2 less for my 9 year old. Almost $9 for him! And less than $5  for my 4 and 6 year olds. It was $43 for 2 adults and 3 kids age 4,6,9. Water to drink. They gave refills when needed and were always ready to make our plates...

I will never go there again !! I went in with my 7 year old daughter and she got one plate of food and some fruit and then didn’t feel good and couldn’t eat any of it and I asked the lady if I could just pay for the buffet or pay the pound and she said yes and she herself boxed up our food . When we got to the register the manager tried to charge me not only almost 11 dollars for her for the buffet and also charger me 6.41 for the box of food she didn’t eat from the buffet !!! And when I said I’m not paying 2 times for the same food she then yanked the bag from my 7 year old daughters hand and said well then you not getting the food and tossed it in the trash even though I had already paid for it !! She scared my daughter and she went out of there crying like she did something wrong when we were told in the first place it was fine that we pay for it by the pound since she didn’t eat anything or just pay for the buffet price !! Worst customer service I have experienced in a long time and I’ve never left a review on any restaurant but I was livid this time and felt people should see how greedy they are and would rather toss the food in the trash and yank it out of a child’s hand then just let us take the food we...

We will not be back. The food was okay. Nothing to complain over but also not great. We came in to the restaurant with my autistic son. He will not eat Chinese food so we brought his food in as we always do at many restaurants. They could have told us it wasn’t allowed and we simply would have left. However, the server was very kind and understanding when we explained that he would not be eating. When we got our bill at the table, it was correct, two meals and three drinks. When we went to the register to pay, the lady running our payment changed the bill amount without telling us and ran our card for over $10 more than our bill from our server had said. She should have never changed the bill, especially without letting us know first. She did not serve us so why should she change the bill? She interrupted me as I was trying to explain that my son did not eat and said she understood and kept trying to make me sign the receipt where I was incorrectly charged. She was yelling in Chinese at the other employees right in my face and she was very rude. She eventually gave us a cash refund for the $10. Overall just not a great experience and I’m sure there are plenty of better options for Chinese buffets...
