Canal Coffee Company — Restaurant in South Congaree

I was driving down the road today looking for a Starbucks and I passed Canal Coffee so I thought let me try this place out for a cup of coffee. I turned my car around to go get coffee and a little snack.

I was greeted by a young man who came out of the back door with the little clipboard to take my order. Love you to see this young man know what customer service is all about. He was very pleasant and patient as I was trying to decide what was on their menu. He took my payment nicely told me to pull up to the next window where I would get my order.

It was also created from the window by a couple young ladies who were also very pleasant and understood but customer service is all about.

Coffee was decent and I got a lemon Loaf, which was pretty good.

I would definitely come back to the spot. I’m in the mood for coffee and in the area again just for the simple fact of how these young people understood the value of good...

I ordered over $20 in food and drinks at the drive through on 4/5/24. They refused to accept my $50 bill, saying that they don't accept any bills over $20. Unacceptable, I can understand if it was a $100 bill and they didn't have change, but this was not the case. Refusing to accept legal tender instead of taking the appropriate steps to test for counterfeit bills is just lazy and disrespectful to customers. When a customer orders over $20 in food, it is not unreasonable to pay with a $50 bill, and refusing a customer service because they only have cash may leave you open to litigation. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Chapter 1, Title 1 of the S.C. Code is amended by adding:

Article 17

Cash Payments

Section 1-1-1110. Any establishment that holds a retail license to do business in this State must accept cash payments for...

Overall this location is great. The customer service here is also very good. They’re very knowledgeable when I ask them about a certain drink. The drinks are also good too. Sometimes a little inconsistent on the iced sweet n salty mocha. I am often just given a regular iced mocha.. and I really miss the beans when they were “human bean”. I’d love for the beans to be brought back! It was my favorite part of getting coffee from there! I also love the drive-thru’s on both sides of the building!
