21Jun2023: We recently moved into town and have a habit of trying every local pizza place that we can. That said we were looking forward to trying one of the highest rated places in town. Unfortunately, I have to say that this restaurant's food fell flat and here's why:
Food: 3 stars: Ordered the vegetarian stromboli, the sauce although strong with garlic, had no other taste to. Then the dough was bland and slightly overcooked -1. My wife ordered a tossed salad that had a mushy tomato in it, shredded lettuce and a few onion slices -1. The mozzarella sticks were good and the kids spaghetti was good for a kid because of the flat sauce.
Service: 5 stars: Our server was for sure the best part of the dining experience. Julie, i believe. As packed as the place was, she was still very present, understanding and kind. Then the cashier had southern charm as well.
Atmosphere: 3 stars: It's very dim lit in the restaurant, almost feeling like the light bulbs are fading out -1. That flooring made me regret looking down at it because it's so old and beat -1. Lastly, its just too loud, is the kind of place where you'll need to shout to speak across the table. Places that have been around for a long time should be financially secure enough to do renovations when they are needed.
Based on other reviews it seems as though the awesome staff is the real reason the locals may give ratings that are so high. Nevertheless, the taste/quality of food needs to be honestly considered for...
Read moreWent for dinner. What a disappointment Had a server most likely in her 40's She definitely should know how to treat people But boy was she slack!!!! We ordered. Had to wait for our salad plates to go to salad bar Finally after a long wait. She brought bowls. While we were at salad bar . Went back to table Lo and behold. If our Hot food was om table. Felt like throwing it in her face. A smart server wouldn't put order in Especially at dinner Until ppl Enjoyed their salad All of us were so disappointed and disgusted. We got go boxes for our hot food because we felt like she treated us like a pig pen ordering our food ahead of us not being able to enjoy our salad. She isn't considerate of ppl who want to enjoy their dinner Needless to say. She received no gravity from none of us ( 4) plus a child To be treated like we were at a Pigs Trough was not our idea of dinner. She needs to be taught. Not to turn order in until ppl have eaten their salad. Won't be going back any time soon if that is how you train your servers to rush people out. Well this employee needs to be let go. Bringing hot food while we are at salad bar. She is gross and sickening So if this is how you want your paying customers to be treated. We won't be treated at dinner like this. Not coming back Regular customers ...
Read moreWe went right after hurricane Helene it and a lot of people were out of power so we expected it to be busy and we were prepared to wait at least an hour for our food. However, we were pleasantly surprised and maybe spent an hour maybe a little longer, but definitely not more than an hour and a half from start to finish which was amazing given how packed they were! Our server was very sweet, and very overwhelmed but still handled our table with efficiency and a smile on our face. Of course she forgot a couple of things but the girl was handling a full dining room a long with a million to go orders so I completely understood. I got the spaghetti combination, a Greek salad and we had a few appetizers, I cannot remember what my boyfriend got but I believe it was the ravioli. I have been coming to this restaurant for well over 15 years and it never disappoints. The food is always amazing with generous portions that I always have leftovers and eat for like a day and a half after I come here. The desert options are also very good. The only thing that I could ever complain about this place is that I remember about ten years ago or so they used to sell beer and wine I believe and I definitely wish they did now but I understand that that is not their fault I will always come back...
