Louie Angelo's Fast Casual Italian — Restaurant in South Elgin

First time last time? Just Meh-so so.. Im Sicilian so food is a passion for me, i live a few blocks away so i figured id give them a try. Pasta, meatballs and bread stick..pasta [very basic] was either over cooked or sitting it was very limp, sauce was kinda bland..needs garlic and more seasonings, meatballs were also bland but decent sized, single warm bread stick a bit underwhelming with just a bit of coarse salt on it. A hunk of fresh bread or toasted garlic bread would be better. All in all pretty awful, its embarrassing to call it Italian. [not much] better than Ragu. At 12 min was fast, but in reality reminded me of o.k. cafeteria Italian food. Will I go back?..probably not. Make some improvements and maybe we can try again, then again plenty of fake-Guido's in the area with no idea what real Italian food is so possibly a lot of customers who may...

Lots of things to love here. Love the atmosphere here. Clean, bright and updated venue. Open kitchen design and counter service. Went on a Saturday night with the fam. No issues being seated. They do a number system and bring out your food. You get your own drinks. Now the food. We ordered a basic thin crust pepperoni pizza. Pizza was seasoned well, cheese was thin and sauce was tasty. Crust...was meh. Wasn't perfect, but overall decent zza. Now the breadsticks. [Wack] Order of 3 breadsticks with marinara for $5.99. Na Bruh. Can't do that to me! Even the picture on the wall had 4 sticks in the order. Staff was great, service was with a smile and made sure we had everything we needed. Even brought out a plate of cinnamon dough balls for the kids which was a nice touch. We'd definitely try again when were in the area and try some of the other dishes...

Incompetent staff, my business went elsewhere. First time placed my order in the restaurant for carry out, after waiting an incredible amount of time I finally received my order. Got home to find my order was not complete, all that time and it was not even complete. I called to ask about it and was apologized to and was told a credit would be put in the 'system' for the next time. Fast forward to the next time, thought we would try their pizza, called to order. Well, that did not go well. No credit in the system. I asked is it under my phone number and was told no. I cancelled the order and decided to order from somewhere else. They did call back to inform me they found my credit, I had already ordered from somewhere else by this time. People work hard for their money and expect a certain level of service and accuracy.
