I have tried to demonstrate patience with the Panera Bread in South Elgin. Simply stated; their quality control of food and customer service is absolutely horrific.
I recently ordered multiple meals (Fontega chicken sandwich w/ chicken noodle soup, & also a salad w/ tomato soup). The Fontega sandwich was so burnt the bun was like a rock. When I opened the sandwich it was missing both tomato and onion and not enough shredded chicken to even cover 25% of the sandwich. The chicken noodle soup had zero (yes zero) noodles in it. When my wife opened the lid of her tomayo soup, the bowl was under 1/2 full.
The quality control, customer service, and simple level of detail since this location move across the street is simply gone!
I spent $17 on a meal that truly was not worth $5. I have gently complained once or twice before to manager who have agreed with my findings/concerns.
Simply stated- Panera Bread company has lost a customer in me for a very long time. I will kindly share my experience with other...
Read moreI went in to Panera on a fine fall evening, expecting a nice tomato soup. When I walked up to the counter, I was greeted by the most pleasant, no, extraordinary smile from this short little man. His name? Robert, maybe Richie. I forget. I asked for the largest tomato soup he could give me, and he told me I had wonderful taste, but the Mac and cheese was in season, and my taste buds would be much more satisfied by 3 Mac and cheese bread bowls. Hear me when I say this, my heart fluttered when he took my card from my hand. And when he brought the Mac and cheese with a flush in his cheek and a glimmer in his eye, I tried to make the interaction linger. I quickly took a bite while he was still at the table, and the Mac and Cheese, well, it had a certain panache to it… it was bursting with flavor, a hint of salt, a pleasant tang. It’s as if I had been waiting my entire life to try this delicacy. I can’t wait return once again, and meet the eyes of this very helpful employee and his delightful...
Read moreI don't go to Panera much at all. I used to. Food was fine. But a few years back I found out what caused weight gain and bread is a big contributor so no bread. Lost a lot of weight. Went to this one to pick up something for someone and it was different than I remembered. Seems the menu was more limited but that could just be faulty memory. Other than that it was just about like every other Panera bread place. I was confused about the pick 2. After studying the menu looking for Mac and cheese and some soup I asked if that qas OK in the pick 2. Girl said, "I can do that." Then I asked about serving side. Not sure but after it was over I am guessing there are three sizes. If you order in a pick 2, small, large. In short, the small was too small and the large was too small. So, I brought the small and the large and it was over $10. Seems high for the amount of food received. Small Mac and cheese and large...
