Update. Moving to 4 stars. The wait has gone down noticeably and the food has been solid, if not exceptional. Kudos to the GM/AGMs/staff for putting in the effort, it shows.
"Welcome to Primanti's.... You can't order any food."
Excuse me, say again? This was now my third trip to the South Fayette Primanti's, and previously things were okay, not great. Not tonight. We walked in and were told it would be an hour wait for a table. Okay, it's a Friday evening, I get it, even though the restaurant appeared to be fully staffed and there were at least three tables open. We walked over to the bar and sat down. Our waitress came over (and I quote): "Welcome to Primanti's. FYI it's going to be a wait for a drink because we don't have any clean glassware and you can't order food". In all my years of eating out I've never heard a server tell me "you can't order food". Maybe "our kitchen is backed up", certainly, but not "you can't order food". Twenty minutes later our beers finally arrived. Okay, so be it. We waited. and waited. Asked our server again. "Nope you still can't put a food order in". Really? I'm looking directly into the kitchen and watching the order display. There's only 4 open orders. Finally "Okay I can put an order in". I order a cheesesteak. Fifteen minutes later it comes out. The fries are rock hard, the meat is burned and the bread is stale. Well then. Should have listen to my waitress and not ordered food.
The final laugh was when I went into the men's bathroom and found there to be water all over the floor near the sink and urinal, no soap, and no paper towels. Was the place slammed? Nope. In fact, there were just SIX occupied tables at that point.
Other reviewers have mentioned management's attitude towards guests. We overheard talk that they were prioritizing take out orders over dine in orders, and from what we saw that might be the case (which was ironic because we watched numerous take out orders get messed up). If management thinks this is acceptable, I'll happily avoid this location...
Read moreThis was my first time going to Primanti Bros and I had very high hopes. I’ve heard the stories about how amazing the food, atmosphere, and service was but that wasn’t the case for me. I got the Reuben and there was nothing special about it. It was kinda dry. My boyfriend got the Pittsburger like he usually gets. His family wanted me to have the first bit of the pittsburger so I did and it was COLD. I asked if it was supposed to be like lunch meat temperature and they all were shocked to feel how cold this sandwich was. 2 other people at our table ordered the same thing yet theirs was hot. We sent the sandwich back and got a warm one within about 5-7 min. The waiter apologized and said they were looking for that sandwich? It was odd and even the hot one was not the best. I did really enjoy the Long Island sweet tee but that was about it. If I ever go back to this location it will be during the day when the kitchen has no excuse for cold food. We went at around 8:30 but the kitchen was supposed to stay open till 11 so to have a cold sandwich just is not acceptable to me. Nobody should have to take a bite of a...
Read morePrimanti South Fayette (Bridgeville) Last time I was at a Primanti Bros. restaurant was over 5 years ago. I did not like it. Here we are 5 years later and the other day I received a Primanti Bros. coupon in the mail. I went back to one near me in South Fayette. The whole place is so loud if I worked there, I would be wearing ear plugs. There appears to be no acoustics to help absorb the sounds of the all the people. The wings were meaty enough however the liquid seasoning is over used and taste like cheap cayenne flavored soybean oil. I had to use the paper towels to wipe off the excess sauce. Thank goodness there is roll of paper towels at each table. When I want good wings I get them at Walmart Robinson in their prepared food section, no sauce needed. It will probably take me another 5 years and a coupon to go back to a Primanti Bros. On a side note, whoever started cutting wings in half and calling them two? LOL Years back a wing was...
