Food: 3/5 (solid good food!) Service: 5/5 (Kind and accommodating staff!) Atmosphere: 4/5 (neat and clean environment)
Lunch at El Paraiso Taqueria was great! Located in South Haven, Michigan, I stopped to experience the tacos and burritos. Some may call this restaurant a hole-in-the-wall type setting, but nevertheless, the place is a small gem in the city. The price is moderate, but you get a small discount if you use cash.
The food was solid. I've had a lot of tacos and burritos in my day. This restaurant got the basics down pack! The taste was authentic, and the chef made the plates neat. There was nothing special about the meal, but the flavors were there, and the meal was textbook. Can't argue with a great meal!
The service was amazing! We were greeted by one of the kindest staff you can ask for. She took care of us and made sure to help us with the menu and how to order.
The atmosphere was good. Although the restaurant was a little dated, the restaurant was clean and accommodating. This is a place to sit and eat and go back to work or home.

Read moreSo, some context, I'm incredibly picky when it comes to Hispanic food. I grew up near Chicago, and there was this little taco place I used to visit after school alone or with friends, and I haven't found a place that has gotten anywhere close to how good their food was because no other Mexican food place has tasted anywhere near as authentic as the place back near Chicago was. At least not until I found this place 😎 el Paraiso has seriously amazing food, literally on the same level as my childhood taco place. Flavors are amazing, textures are wonderful, eating here took me back to walking down the street from my old high school chatting and joking with all my friends, sharing some horchata together, eating our food, talking about whatever gossip and drama going on or what homework we had to do for the day. It's all very comforting and nostalgic. Also the interior of the place has a very similar vibe as the place in Chicago. Couldn't recommend this place enough, I've been going here pretty much every week since we moved...

It was quite possibly the worst Mexican food we've ever had. The portions were small, the prices were high and no chips or salsa unless you buy.
I ordered the quesadilla meal (14.00) with one chicken & one shrimp. It was not a quesadilla it was 2 flour tortilla tacos. The shrimp was cut into chunks and was MAYBE 2 normal shrimp. The chicken was sparse also. They were both very bland with little lettuce or sour cream
My husband had chicken fajitas (14.75). The chicken was orange, there were strips of red bell pepper, the same of green and very little onions.
It was clean, there were no servers you ordered at the counter.
DEFINATELY no return trip and we're still trying to figure out why people think it's so good. Taco bell is better flavored than this was and that says everything you...
