China River — Restaurant in South Houston

You know I had to change my rating from 3 yrs ago because this place is going down. The flavor and quality is just not as good as before, idk if its because they have so many ppl and the cooks do everything in a rush but it's not that good anymore. The main reason for this review is so that hopefully one of managers/owners sees this. This last time we ate here our waiter was rude and demanding of a tip, I asked for plastic utensils and he just stared at me and walked away then brought back like 4 spoons and 5 forks, slammed them on the table and walked away mind you we were only 2. Then as we were getting ready to leave my husband had not put the tip on the tray yet so the waiter stood there and said "hmm, no tip?" He would not walk away until he saw we left something so we got up to leave and the bodyguard(waiter) still there noticed the tip under the plate and just thank you in a smug tone. We always tip but tips are earned for good service and even though we were not provided good service we still left one but I guess the amt was not to his liking. I think they need to have a meeting with their wait staff and explain that it is rude to stand by the table and ask for a tip or demand one, keep in mind not all the wait staff is like this and this particular waiter has been there a long time so he should know better. I have nothing bad to say about the food. The only thing I don't like it's the Service.Some waiters and waitress are excellent , others are bad. There's always a waiter that counts his tip money all the time, and it gets annoying.One time I was eating there, and an argument started between a waiter and a waitress.RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FAMILY AND I EATING!! AND THEY STILL EXPECTED A BIG TIP!! I've ate here a lot of times , I mean a lot of times and I have never ever seen an argument brake out in this Buffet or in another restaruant I've been too. I agree/disagree with the other reviews. SOME waiters and waitress are very friendly others are just plain bad.Most of the waiters and waitress refill your cup very often,I personally love that . If you go with a lot of persons , above 10 persons (which I recommend you don't ) They get to choose how much tip you HAVE too give them.When you pay some waiters and waitress do these,I'm not saying all of the waiters and waitress do these. They stand there and wait for you to take out the money and pay them and some of them take out the money that they're bringing you back. And yet they still smile at you and say ''I've tipped myself already'' When that happened to my family and I my dad got really upset and he said give us the money you've take out and he did and we didn't...

Went today May 12, 2019 to celebrate mother's day . My family and I have been coming here for years, today we went but had a horrible experience with the waitress .After waiting a long time to be seated because it was full the waitress was extremely rude to me and my family. She kept looking angry , taking our plates without even asking if we were done . She was rushing us to pay and leave . After bringing the check my mom paid with her card and didnt wrote a tip because she was going to leave it cash even though she didnt deserve a tip for the way she behaved .The waitress started asking my mom infront of everyone " No tip for me" several times infront of everyone . So unprofessional. What a shame that we couldnt even enjoy a special day at our favorite place to eat. Unacceptable . I will obviously return to this place because I've had other good waiters/ waitresses .But today was a nightmare to not be able to enjoy your meal and feel pressured to hurry up and leave. I hope this place trains there waiters/waitresses how to treat customers and let them eat in peace because they are paying for their meal. Its not...
