Sodalicious — Restaurant in South Jordan

Honestly, this place is gross! We pulled up and the windows were dark and filthy. We actually laughed and thought we were in for some kind of adventure and we were not wrong. We walked in and instantly noticed the lack of music, lighting or energy/engagement. You walk into the side of the building not the front. 2 people working were sitting in their phones and nodded at us as we walked in. The flies were disgusting (alive and dead) and EVERYWHERE! The equipment looked like it’s never been cleaned. I noticed the popcorn machine was popped but had about a cup of popcorn in it so obviously I’m not ordering that option. We said we’d never been here before and asked if they had any suggestions? We were told there were a lot of options on the board for us to choose from. There was a fly trap hanging over her head as she took our order. We ordered, and was offered to buy a cookie ( there was one of each option in a case- not sure if they were real or display) we said no to that, placed our order then left and dumped them in the trash. We pass this place all the time, but we don't go a ton because soda is so dang sticky. But it's really good when we do go, and their cookies are really good, too. There are just a few things I wish they'd focus on. Number one is to please find a new supplier for cups! Not only is Styrofoam so terrible for the environment, but the cups end up so sticky after the employee does all the mixing and it doesn't clean well as all. Also, more than once we've had incident of the cup just breaking when grabbing it, which makes a huge mess all over the place (my kids usually get root beer, I'm dying with the stickiness). Considering we don't go often, that's not a good sign. This is a biggie for me. I almost wanted to give 3 stars over this, but the overall quality of the product is quite likable. The other issues I have are the attention to detail on store cleanliness and presentation. Some consultation on this topic might be necessary. I am not a big soda drinker, but had a gift certificate and it was a hot day so I decided to give it a try with my family. Inside the door the floor was very sticky and my shoes made a sound like removing tape as I walked. There were lots of flies. It looked like there were two employees(both very nice), one at the front and one at the drive through window. We ordered our drinks and sat down to wait several minutes. The store was not busy. I was hoping for something extraordinary, but it tasted just like the drink machine at Wendy's. We all agreed that Wendy's would have been a better choice. I had to return my drink because the soda flavor had run out and it was plain soda water.
