In an empty restaurant we waited 5+ minutes to be greeted at our table. Service was very, very slow. Duck rolls were good but dim sum was barely average, below what I would expect at this type of restaurant. One person ordered a dish of low mien and a dish of fried rice. The other two people ordered land and sea (you are not allowed to request a meat temp). Fried rice came microwave super hot. 2 mins later, low mien came. Also microwave super hot. 5-8 minutes later the land and sea dishes came. Steak and lobster were barely room temp and the veg were stone cold. Lobster was overcooked and completely flavorless. Steak was quite good although I would have preferred med rare to well done. Management was notified about the lobster and their response was " How can that be?" I said " I dont know but it is not edible" Long stare from management who then just walked away. Eventually we were offered ONE dessert to cover for 2 $34 bad dinners! The "free" tiramisu was still frozen in the middle. Then they had the nerve to add 18%(which they calculated wrong!) to a table of 3! Covering on booths is ripped and the lights are covered in dust. Big booth had a small table. Please notice all the other reviews are old. This WAS a great a restaurant...

Totally dig Kabuki!

When I get a hankering for some sushi in my neck of the woods I make my way to Kabuki.

Located in the heart of Wakefield, this classy establishment offers a selection of tantalizing Asian inspired offerings. Kabuki is not a one-trick pony or your typical greasy Chinese takeout found on every street corner in New England.

With offerings that span a wide variety of Asian cultures all on one menu, the whole family or gathering of friends is sure to find something to write home about.

All that aside, I find that I keep going back for the lovely Sushi rolls. My current faves found under Signature Rolls include the oversized "Angry Dragon", the well versified "Out of Control", & the attractive "Valentine Roll."

I have had such great luck every-time that I have eaten here that I would imagine the whole menu is just as good.

Kabuki is definitely a favorite haunt of locals, tourists, & the college set on weekends & is a nice break from the burger bustle that consumes most of the eateries in the nearby area.

Stop by & tell them that...

Sadly, we have had take out from Kabuki many times. It was an easy, tasty, takeout choice when we'd have unexpected guests or time restraints. We had a very bad experience with our take last night. One dish out of seven was good. Porkloin dumplings were over cooked and very greasy, rice was old. But, going straight to the main complaint and problem was the Teriyaki Salmon, was totally WRONG. The Salmon was burnt, burnt burnt and so dried it was like pencil shavings. Worst part is when I called to tell them about the Salmon. I was told it needed to be crispy and cooked all the way through...i explained how black ,burnt, flattened and dry it was and said next time i will be sure to order the Salmon medium or even medium rare for take out. They actually said "fish needs to be cooked all the way through or it will be bad for you and make you sick!" I told them that was a bad response for a restaurant that serves sushi and sashimi. They had to have had the Salmon cooked (burnt)before the order was placed it was horrible and their response was horrible...

As an Asian person (Chinese), the food was ok. I thought it would just be the sushi (Eel avocado, Shrimp Tempora, and Golden Apple Roll - which I was really excited about the mix of flavors but the cooked salmon's fishiness combated the Apple and cool flavors. Rice was warm for all the sushi.) and other Asian food (Wonton soup was just ok and even the edamame didn't open as easily as normally), so we decided to still get dessert since it was mostly Italian and American dessert options. I started dying when my husband took the spoon to crack the top of the espresso creme brulee and it was soft. The glass was initially hot because of the torching, but clearly it didn't work. The flavor was still yummy, though I think the scoops at the bottom still had protective icing from the refrigerator 😂 Service was good. Everyone was friendly and timely.

This place is great, I always sit in the bar area. Attentive staff, friendly patrons, & good food. Isn't that what us bar people look for in a place? If you are unsure about trying the food, go on a Monday - they have deals on most appetizers & quite a few sushi rolls. Rocky Shrimp & Spare Ribs are just a couple of my great choices!

We stopped in Kabuki after attending our kids school event. It was very clean and the ambience was nice. The food portion was a good amount and delicious. Definitely would recommend. Service was a little slow when we first arrived, but waitress was very pleasant. Food came out quickly.
