Mama, What's Cooking — Restaurant in South Kingstown

Right next to Kingston Mart and CVS — super easy for URI students and masjid visitors. Mama, What’s Cooking has both indoor and outdoor seating, and it’s a great chill spot - VERY clean!

I highly recommend the Kofta Kebab plate, Chicken Tawook, and Beef Kebab (like steak), Falafel 🧆 (vegetarian option), and Tabbouleh salad 🥗 — not just my favorites, they’re to die for, especially the steak, Tawook and kofta.

The food is super fresh and made to order. Everything is حلال halal, and you can taste the difference — even the meat is really clean, not greasy, bloody smelling or heavy. I like that they keep some fat on the beef steak, but that’s just my preference. 🥩

Fresh-squeezed orange juice 🍊 and tamarind drink are also awesome. Try their falafel as well (vegetarian option). Hummus is incredible, and the garlic sauce might be the best I’ve ever had.

I've eaten here twice now and think they serve The best chicken shawarma wrap I have ever had! The ingredients taste so fresh and clean that you can eat the entire sandwich in one sitting and not regret it. Both times I have been there the man who took my order shared with me a little bit about Lebanese food culture. Yesterday, he explained how they make their incredible garlic sauce which comes on the shawarma wrap. The restaurant is also spotlessly clean and has plenty of seating. I went to this location with my handicapped sister(bound to a wheelchair) we came to the front doors all to be blocked by the owners vehicle loading supplies she noticed my sister in the wheel chair and asked her to wait about 10 min.
