Moon’s Korean Kitchen Tahoe — Restaurant in South Lake Tahoe

Came to Cascade Kitchens in South Lake Tahoe and found this little spot. I absolutely love Korean Food so I was super excited to find this.

The kitchen was a bit busy making orders so I stood in line waiting for service for about a good 5 minutes. Once I was greeted, the lady who took my order was very pleasant.

I had the spicy stir fry pork and also got the Spam Kimchi Fried Rice. They were out of the beef bulgogi, which is what I came for. Overall I really liked the food.

The Spicy Pork came out first and was medium heat and I wouldn’t recommend that level for anyone who isn’t used to spicy food. The rice was a little hard but I ate the entire dish. I would order this again. The portion is good too.

The Kimchi Fried Rice came out about 15 minutes after my spicy pork dish. I expected all the food to be ready at the same time. The dish was a mild spicy, and that added a nice spice level to where the food was enjoyable. The egg was overcooked and a little burnt under, but I didnt mind. Kimchi fried rice always taste better either fresh or next day. Lol

Wow, authentic Korean food on south shore! It's really tasty, and the portions sizes are filling. The staff are friendly and you can see them working really hard and fast. However, it is pricey for these meals in a food hall / food court setting, by the way, with limited common area seating. For example, a bento of spicy pork stir-fry with veggies, white rice, a simple salad, and portions of kimchi and pickled daikon was $22. Add a drink, tax, tip, and something called a common fee, and a family of 4 will eat for around $125 in disposable plastic containers and single use utensils. Moon's is excellent! The Kimchi Spam Fried Rice is life changing. I had it three nights ago and I'm still craving it. Salty, a little spicy, and very flavorful. My husband had the Spicy Pork Stir Fry and it was fantastic. Just the perfect amount of sauce and heat. The service was warm and friendly and the food came out fast. I highly recommend this great...
